Check the following to address this issue--

1. No power to the dishwasher
Make sure there's power getting to the dishwasher. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the dishwasher (inside the junction box, behind the bottom kick panel), if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.

2. Door switch
Replace if defective.

3. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

4. Selector switch
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

Dishwasher stops mid-cycle

Good Afternoon Mark, this is Z. Thank you for your post!

Based on the symptoms you are describing, it appears that your Frigidaire dishwasher may have a communication error from the main control board, faulty door latch or the timer itself may not be operating correctly. This is not a typical DIY job. However, before reaching out to an experienced appliance tech, first, double-check to ensure that the door is securely latching. If it is secure, reset the power to your dishwasher for roughly ten minutes. You can do this by flipping your circuit breaker into the off position. This usually does the trick. I hope these troubleshooting tips help you in some small way.

The float switch may be hung up and this can cause the dishwasher to be stuck in a cycle. 87af5b68-272e-404a-951c-cd453d3cd7fe.jpg

Kenmore dishwasher 665-1703 wont stop washing

Unfortunatly you are looking at the timer which is now built into the controller which would need to be replaced. If the relays are fused shut on the timer or the gears are missing some teeth then you will only get sofar I the cycle and the washer will just stay where it's. Sorry

The touch bottons are clicking on and off and nothing works. I had to shut the washer off in a hurry recently and this is the result.

Make sure the door is completely closed and latched. On models with a dual-digit display, the control displays "- -" during a cycle if it believes the door is not latched. Check for obstructions (spoons, etc), interfering with the door operation. A lower dish rack that is installed backward will also cause incomplete door closure. Is there power to the dishwasher Check your household electrical box to see if a fuse has blown or if the circuit breaker has tripped. MDB7600aws Maytag dishwasher heats up with door shut when off

Your timer is jamming on the heat cycle. When you open the door the door interlock switch cuts the power off and stops the cycle.

Probably if you just close the door again it will heat again unless the machine is started again.

You need to repair or replace the timer.

It starts then stops. never completes the cycle. it shuts down. it will drain thats it.

If the cycle didnt complete check the following:

Water-heating cycle
Many dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a higher temperature, as the cycle calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature. What happens next, depends, as follows:

* On some units, the pause is timed and the unit continues after the allotted time.
* On others, the cycle can't continue until the water reaches the higher temperature. If you have this type of dishwasher and the water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues. When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle problem" is fixed too.

Timer
Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place doing one function continuously the timer may be at fault. Dishwasher timers can't be repaired. If yours is defective, replace it.
