When I insert my SDHC Card into my printer/scanner it gives me an error on card. Putting the card in the camera I can review pictures perfectly, I have a new DMC-ZS5. Any suggestions?

The problem is that your printer is only compatible with SD cards, not SDHC cards. You bought a larger card for your camera, not noticing that it was SDHC (or not knowing that it wouldn't work in the printer). The new card doesn't work, not because it or the printer is broken, but because it's not compatible.

Cards up to 2Gb are generally SD.
Cards of 4Gb are generally SDHC.
Cards over 8Gb have to be SDHC.

(There are exceptions. Sometimes, manufacturers make 4Gb SDHC cards but some have errors; they disable half of the chip and sell it as 2Gb, but it's still SDHC. 4Gb cards are almost always SDHC because they're cheaper, but 4Gb SD cards do exist. They are so rare that I've even seen a guru on this site claim they don't. I did own one once, but it was very expensive and turned out to be so unreliable that I had to return it. I don't recommend looking for one, because of the problems.)

Your solution is to limit yourself to a 2Gb card, (and be extra sure that it doesn't say "SDHC" on it) or to find a different way to get the photos to the printer.

Photos i have taken saved onto the internal memory of my panasonic lumix camera even though there is plenty of space on my sd card. when i pressed play it only showed the photos from the internal memory so...

This is a problem with the memory card. I don't know why your camera is not giving an error message of some kind- it seems to know that it can't store pictures there.

Probably the first thing to try is formatting the card. There is a function in the camera menus to do this. If it won't format or gives an error when you try, then there may be an issue with the connectors in the card slot or the card may be incompatible.

Maybe it is having trouble with the size of the memory. Memory cards have grown enormously in capacity in the last couple of years, and even relatively new cameras may not be able to cope with the memory size of the newest cards.

SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

The card is still useful and valuable, but not with this camera.

I have taken some pictures but when I put the memory card in the printer it states card error. It works on my sons laptop and a digital photo frame.

Is the card an SDHC card (4GB or larger)? If so, the printer's SD reader may have been designed before the SDHC format came out, and thus may not be able to read the card. Not a big problem in that portable USB SDHC card readers are being cranked out from China in the millions these days, and are extremely inexpensive ($3 or less shipping included, no fooling). These will work with your card. Just plug the card in, then plug the reader into an available USB port on your computer. Here' are some options from Amazon.

Pictures taken can be reviewed in the camera. But,

It's a one way street...from camera to computer...not the other way around. Doing it that way will eventually corrupt the card and sometimes even the camera.

I have a D5000 Nikon and a Panasonic SD/HC 4GB card. I have formatted the card and taken a number of pictures. I have loaded the necessary soft ware supplied with new camera but cannot download any...

If you are using a card reader of some sort (other than using the camera to download the images), it may not be SDHC compliant. Have you tried using the camera to download the images via the supplied cable? If you've taken the images in RAW format, that could also be the problem. Try using a 2gb or smaller card in the camera to take some images and then download them using your usual method. If it works with the 2gb card but not with the 4gb, it's likely your reader isn't SDHC compliant.

I have the exact problem. I came on slowly, some days it would work, some days it wouldnt. Finally i couldnt get it working at all. Sent it back to Kodak as it was still under warranty, the repair center claims it was "physical damage". They admit that the camera shows no evidence of falling or banging but it doesnt matter. The camera was lightly used only by my wife, she took good care of it. I'm currently fighting with Kodak, they are requesting photos from the repair center, so they claim. I think its lost cause, but we'll see.
