Remove drawer refrigerator drawer

How do you remove a KitchenAid drawer refrigerator to clean behind it? Our refrigerator smells awful all the time, even when set at 33 degrees, empty and cleaned with vinegar. It smells like something died.

SOURCE: Ice tastes funny and a strange metallic or plastic type smell

Sometimes the smell comes from something in the freezer or even the refrigeratior and makes the ice taste funny. My suggestion is to clean out the freezer compartment of anything frozen that has been there a while and may have freezer burn. That may be the funny smell you are experiencing.
Hope this will help you.

SOURCE: Refrigerator section will not keep a constant temperature

Check the coils at the back of the freezer for ice build up. If there is have it defrosted by unplugging the unit and have it cleaned. If there are none, have the coils cleaned with something soft. Otherwise there could be a problem with the thermostat.

SOURCE: Kitchenaid Refrigerator KSRB25FHSS04 is not

Fan motors in a refrigerator are not an optional part. They must run when the machine is turned on and running. Check the motor to see if the blade is hitting something, and correct the problem, or replace the motor if necessary, but there is no way the machine can perform properly with a fan motor is out of commission. P.S. If the bottom back cover was removed while cleaning or for any reason, make sure it is reinstalled. It provides proper ducting of air to the condenser and must be in place.

Milk which was spilled in the fridge has dripped into the drip tray behind the fridge and has created the most awful smell. Can the tray be removed for cleaning and if so how?

Yes, usually the tray can be removed for cleaning. You will have to pull the fridge out, unplug power, remove the rear access cover. Then you should see the evaporator / condensate tray and how to remove it.

How to completely clean the Crisper drawer

I don't know if you've already figured out how to remove the front panel on your refrigerator crisper bin, but here it is. Once the drawer is removed, pull back those clips on the top left & right of the front of the drawer.Just hold the side and pull back at the same time, then you can remove it. Once both side have been released you should be able to remove the clear plastic front and clean both pieces. I hope that is clear enough. Best of luck, unless of course you've already discovered the answer yourself.

Compactor will not close and latch. I removed the trash bag and installed a new one then closed the drawer like normal, only drawer would not stayed closed. It just bounces back out.

you will need to remove the entire Drawer to see if somthing fell behind inside.

Most of the time you can pull the drawer all the way out and lift the front of the drawer and pull it out.

How to clean crisper drawers humidity control slider?

Hello. Remove the entire drawer and put it in a large plastic bag. Add two cups of ammonia and close the bag up tight with a twist tie. Leave the bag in a sink or a tub or out doors in case it leaks. The next day remove the drawer, rinse it thoroughly to remove the ammonia smell and the slider will be as clean as it is going to get. Regards, Joe

Bad smell from the back

Any drippings in back may cause a funny smell with water settling behind the refrigerator. Pull your refrigerator out from the wall and trace the smell. Maybe your waterline needs to be cleaned.

use straight bleach on it. sponge down the whole inside with bleach and if you can leave the doors open on it to let it breathe and clear the odor out. bleach kills most smells if left on for awhile.go over it a couple of times if you have to to get rid of the smell.
