Input the incorrect code 10 times and it will auto restart and wipe all data on the phone.

Get another temp password and CAREFULLY type it in to gain access. It may be case sensitive so type in exactly as it appears.

How do i change my temporary password


  1. You will need to visit the website and reset the temporary password to a permanent password. Please note that your temporary password is valid until 11:59pm Pacific time the following day it was issued. Once you login with the temporary password the system will prompt you to enter a permanent password.
  2. If your temporary password has expired, please resubmit your request in the same manner in which it was originally submitted. If you used theautomated password recovery system, you can simply request that a new temporary password be sent to you via e-mail.

Trying to reset temporary password given me last week but the password is not working

If u think ur account is hacked.then put your old password and click on lock my account or if u changed your password and forget it then u can recover it through the email id or phone no. provided during registration.If u r on a temporary account than simply make a new one...

Default router password is not working.


Are you sure you reset it ? Try holding the reset switch with power off and unplugged for a few seconds, then try resetting with power on.

  • If you do not remember your password, you can click "I Forgot My Password" on the login screen and the 2Wire will provide you with a password hint.
  • If you still do not remember, you can click on "I Still Don't Remember My Password" and the 2Wire will prompt you for the system key.
  • The system key is located on the side of the 2Wire HomePortal on a sticker and is a 10-digit number surrounded by brackets (ex: [1234567890]). It is located between the two barcodes on the sticker (see image below).
  • Once you enter the system key, the 2Wire will allow you to reset the password to anything you like.

If after your hint is shown to you, you still can't remember your password, there is a "I still can't remember my password" link that you can click to take you to a page to obtain a temporary password. To obtain a temporary password, you must call the support telephone number on the screen and provide the special code number that is generated by your HomePortal. The support representative will use this special code number to generate a temporary password. Once you have entered the temporary password, you can then change your password and enter an appropriate hint.

That's the temporary password thats given to you when you reset your password. Enter your username then put that into the password box.

I need a password. Tried this password - 3155304945 - that was on unit but would not work


To reset password with software version 4.25.X or higher:

  1. Click I forgot the password to receive a hint to the password. 3.7_reset_pw_001.jpg

    The Reset System Password page opens, asking for the "System Key." This is the 10-digit WEP key from the bottom of the HomePortal. (The printed number stays unchanged even if you have changed the wireless security settings on the unit.)

  3. Enter the 10-digit WEP key, select a new password, enter it again to confirm the password, and give yourself a new hint to the password.
  4. Click Submit and your password is updated.

Temporary Passwords:
A customer may call in stating that their 2Wire is asking for a temporary password. You will need to use CMS to reset their Gateway password.

  1. Open CMS
  2. The customer will read you the 20 digit code they see on their screen
  3. You will generate a temporary password that is only good for 15 minutes.
  4. The customer will enter the temporary password then create a new password.

After 15 minutes both the 20 digit code and the temporary password expire. If the password process has not been complete in this time frame the page will need to be refreshed for a new 20 digit code.

Now you can use the new password to enter the HomePortal protected areas and the Management and Diagnostic Console.

Resetting your Wireless Sync password
  1. Navigate to the showLink("Wireless Sync", "_blank") Wireless Sync website.
  2. Click Forgot Password.

To reset your Voice Mail password online:
