SOURCE: oven shuts off?

F34 is a cooling motor fault. May sure that the cooling motor is running. If not, then check that there is 120 volts to the motor. The motor sensor on this oven is attached to the cooling fan. It could be a simple issue of loose wire in the connector. Find the wiring going to the relay unit from the motor, pull the connector and hold a flash light on the back side of the connector. You should see almost no light. If you see mostly light, there is your loose connection.

My Name is Don from Mr Fix it Applaince in baytown texas. I have seen this F34 error as well and may have a solution for some of you... According to a Thermador error code book for a C301bs/03 single Thermador oven. It says its a air flow problem. This means it could be the fan motor sensor telling the controlboard that it is not spinning fast or not at all. or it could be a micro paddle switch that is activated by air flow, I found Two of them on the bottome of a double oven thermador a few moths ago.. Recap : if your fan blower motor has 4 wires going to it, it has a sensor reading the rotation of the motor.... if yours does not have this then you should look for a paddle switch.

SOURCE: code f34 for my thermador

Hi,

According to a Thermador error code book for a single Thermador oven. It says its a air flow problem. This means it could be the fan motor sensor telling the control board that it is not spinning fast or not at all. or it could be a micro paddle switch that is activated by air flow. Recap : if your fan blower motor has 4 wires going to it, it has a sensor reading the rotation of the motor.... if yours does not have this then you should look for a paddle switch. This could also be a result of fan may be too dirty to operate correctly. Try to clean the oven. If you had this error after electrical surge or outage recently, then turn off the dedicated circuit @ circuit breaker box for about 1 Hour and hopefully it would resolve the problem.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

What does F34 mean as an error message?

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

The "F34" code on your model of Thermador double oven indicates the control has detected an error with the airflow for the upper oven ( all lower codes start with "6", upper start with "3" )

This could indicate a faulty blower motor, not coming on at all, or if it does come on and still initiates an F34 error, it is likely the sail switch is sticking. It can be removed and cleaned as they do become contaminated with dirt, grease and dust over time.

The sail switch is located at the very bottom of the ovens where the grill is, under the lower door.

example:
macmarkus_999.jpg

( F34 can also be initiated by a failed "K6" relay on the control board, but that is less likely )

It can be accessed by way of removing the grill, however it is something usually best left to an authorized B/S/H/ service provider as it can be quiet involved and is better to pull the unit from the wall.

**Turn off the 40 amp breaker to the oven before attempting any service...safety first**

B/S/H/ is the parent company for Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau, Siemens.

Shows #34 on display and does not function

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

The "F34" code on your model of Thermador oven indicates the control has detected an error with the airflow for the oven.

This could indicate a faulty blower motor not coming on at all, or if it does come on ( you should be able to hear it or feel it blowing out the bottom under the door if it's working ) and still initiates an F34 error it is likely the sail switch is sticking. The switch can be removed and cleaned as they do become contaminated with dirt, grease and dust over time.

The sail switch is located at the very bottom of the ovens where the grill is, under the lower door. The blower is located at the back wall of the oven plenum as illustrated here.

( F34 can also be initiated by a failed "K4 relay" on the control board, but that is less likely )

The sail switch as I mentioned can be accessed by way of removing the lower grill...i.e. macmarkus_223.jpg **Turn off the 40 amp breaker to the oven before attempting any service...safety first**
If you feel capable this is the procedure for testing the blower and sail switch as follows...At this point I recommend calling in a pro, it's your call.

Oven stopped heating - F34 displayed.

Hi,
You get F34 error because there is excess heat within the oven.
You need to clean the cooling fan for any debris or dust, if this does not solve the problem replace the cooling fan.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for using Fixya.
