Hi Guys, Have a Canon GP 335 copier, the power company doing maintaince in the area turner the power off last week, the printer had been sitting a long period on power save mode. When I came into work, re-starting all that happens is the the green light on the panel glows, and one small fan at the rear runs. Appears no power to the display panel or any thing else obvious. Can you advise me?
Thanks for you advise, no this isn't the solution, I have tryed this, I had the local Canon service rep discuss the matter, he says its not fixable!!! with out internal repairs. Can you advise what is the fault. I also have a GP 215 copier which I could raid the part out off if that would be possible. Thanks for you advise, no this isn't the solution, I have tryed this, I had the local Canon service rep discuss the matter, he says its not fixable!!! with out internal repairs. I think this problem will require a technician to test and diagnose. I was hopeful that I could get a quick fix and solution on line. This is a common issue and there might be millions of reasons and i hope you would agree. Let me list down the main reasons and you can check and take a wise decision :-
1. As you are not getting the power to the display, before we jump to conclusion that the copier is at fault, have you check the power supply unit. Are you sure that you are getting the power to the machine, Even a small fault in Wire/Adapter might lead to the above mentioned result.
2. Faulty board. As you are not getting the power to the board, the board might be at fault. Replacement is board is not a wise idea, as it would not guarantee extended life of the copier and adding few bucks would help you to get a new copier. Now, if we talk about repair, If you have a knowledge, open the board. Take a voltmeter and measure the current across all the elements. Any blown Ic or element, replace that and get it done.
Any further help, let me know.

Try unplugging it for 15-30 minutes and then plug it back in and turn it on and see if there is any change. Possibly the printer had a power surge that may have damaged something but that isn't as likely. Is the computer that it is hooked to experiencing any problems.

I'm not familiar with the GP-335 but it may be similar to the GP-30 for America. This is an error for the deplecition of the fixing web. That will have to be replaced ( P/N FY1-1046-000 ). The nget into service maod and reset the web counter in COUNTER section.
E051 indicates that the side or horizontal registration sensor is not detected try to
switch off/on the machine but if the same error code display again thereis a small motor that drive the sensor assy should be change.try to
move the sensor manualy by opening the upper right side peep inside you
will see a long white plastic wth teeth push to this to right side hope
this will help
press additional function button once and press 2,8 buttons at a time & press additional function button again & execute the following
select <copier> <counter> <misc> <fix web> then press clear button on the display.
automatically the web counter will be zero , the proble also cleared.
