BUTCHERED WIRING. I aquired this system in my new caravan, but it had been fitted by a butcher using a chainsaw I think! I have identified the speaker wires but could do with an assist for the rest.

Try taking a 12v light take solid black and touch to one terminal only on light. now takeone of the remaing wires and touch to othe terminals until light comes on this is your memory wire. now turn on ignition and repeat process leaving out memory wire and this is your hot wire

i solved my problem this way, you dont need all the other wires unless you have apower a antenna

My boyfriend is fixing my 1999 dodge durango ac heater blower can you splice the wires to the new blower

There is no need to splice anything

You buy the correct replacement part
& plug it in

How could he possibly work on any vehicle
& then not know about splicing, soldering, etc,
if that ever came up

If someone butchered the vehicles wiring, return it
to as built factory condition, that may require some
salvage yard wiring connector & splicing, as you call it

Have just bought a Fiat punto 2001 and the wiring for the radio has been butchered, how can i solve this

If you are installing an aftermaket deck then it will come with a new harness which you can solder into the old one and clean things up. If you have a lacking confidence with electrical wiring then you can take it to a car audio installer and they should be able to repair it for you.

Cheers
Dave
