Question about Apple Mac/iMac&iPod Speakers-(Bondie-Blue) W/ Free CD/DVD Caddy-Limited Supply (p/n I-SPKR-BONDI) Computer Speakers
I've owned my MacBook for about 3 months now, and about a month ago, my internal speakers stopped working. I know there is sound, due to the 'ta-da' noise sounded upon turning the laptop on. When checking my 'sound' output option, it tells me it is set to 'Digital Out' with the 'Built-in Output' port. There are no other options to click on. I have been told this is the problem. When I use headphones or external speakers, sound works fine. Interesting point....about 2 weeks back, my friend was able to make it play via internal speakers by tilting the computer side to side, but it cut in and out. Is there a driver I can install to re-set my speakers to what they need to be? Thanks *Inhaling deeply* I have tried a toothpick, q-tip and a match. I have seriously have 5 threads open in my tabs bar (including this one), I have not been to the apple store because the problem happened to me today (just a few hours ago). There's no red light in the sound drive. I've restarted my macbook (white, regular macbook, new-ish) literally 3 times. I have seriously done everything every thread/forum I've been to, with the exception of taking it to the apple store. This has happened before, only never this bad, and all those other times there was a red light and I just plugged in headphones into the drive and took them out and that fixed the sound. *panting* Won't somebody please help me?!
Sounds like the cutout switch in the output jack is stuck open, it is a techy fix sorry (at least it is not a board failure)

My macbook- doesn't give out sound thru external speakers and no sound in headphones .I have tried a toothpick, q-tip too, but no avail. The internal speakers is very bad also so I took it to Apple Genius (with appointment) and they tested my macbook with their software fr.Macbook Pro using ethernet cord and start playing music and my macbook speakers- internal and external are loud again. WOW! So it's the infested 3rd party software such as Limewire and all others that we love to downloaded (but there are too many to figure it out which one is bad)...SO I backed up my stuffs and reinstalled macos X tiger and all is new again....WORKING PERFECT NOW!!! RE-INSTALL!!!! Thanks Apple Store!!!!!!
