when do you attempt to use the playback button, are you previewing pictures etc and then you come across a movie and you try to play it back and it wont?

or? could you be a little more spesific.

    Thanks.

Would be a good idea to use a card reader or connect your camera to the computer to copy the pictures into the computer or view them from the computer directly from the camera.

Ones you have the pictures copied to your computer safely.

open up the camera set up, do a format and then all reset.

ones its done turn the camera off and back now, (if it doesn't do it by itself)

enter the details it asks, take a picture and test if the button works.

Note that the camera mode dial needs to be on the camera icon or shooting mode and turned on for the playback button to function.

    OR

When the camera is off, pressing i for approximately one second will turn the camera on in Fullscreen playback mode

Sony Handycam CCD-TRV37 8mm Analog... 2 Problems, maybe more unknown at this time:

This does require disassembly to remedy the problem. There are various possible fixes. The most prevelant I have seen is cold solder connections of the board connector for the fpc cable from the top operation switch block ass'y. All you need is someone who can handle this task, like a professional. The controls that you are experiencing problems with are all linked with one cable and connector. One bad solder joint can cause serveral operation faults. Good Luck, magic seadog

Can't play back videos on my experna; memory card Sandisk class 4 8Gb. Have a canon Vixia HFR10 camcorder

Okay, ours is a different brand (JVC) but they may have some basic similarities in function. To playback video clips stored on the memory card, put the memory card in the card reader slot of the computer and put the files onto the computer. Playback the clips from your computer video or photo file. (Ours won't playback video stored on the memory card through the camera.)

To playback video clips stored on the camera hard drive through the camera, we open the viewer screen, look at the function keys on the camera body, select the "Play" button. On the screen it displays thumbnails of the various video clips. We use the toggle/function key to select from the menu containing options for playback, edit, delete, protect, etc.

After selecting the video file you want to view, press the shutter release button to start the playback. Touch the "C" icon function area to stop the playback. It's on pages 33-34 of the manual.

No Sound

The camcorder may be in what may be called "narration mode." This function mutes the playback audio so you can narrate with you own voice when playing tapes back. Check for a function like this in the playback sound menu.
