I have a 2202 Ford Escape with a 5 disc player. I keep getting a CD error on it when I try to put in a cd or get one out. Also it takes like 10 seconds when I turn on the vehichle before it reacts. Any suggestions besides getting a new one. Or where can I get one the same at?

I have the same problem and it's with the 2002 Ford Escape too. Sounds like they should do a recall on their cd changers. It won't eject the cd's or allow me to put another one in and it also will not play them. It just says disc error.

Here's a suggestion: pop the cd/radio out so you can work on it. Do that by sticking four 2" nails into the four ports on the front to release it. Then gently yank it out. If you're mechanically inclined you may be able to get the insides back into alignment; it may mean taking out the CDs first.

CD eject error

My wife has a 2002 Escape and has a similar issue. She uses a piece of cardboard and slides into the CD slot and slightly presses the CD. In turn, the mechanism pushes the CD out.

I have had the CD player out in it's entirety, and nothing appears to be wrong.

Hope this helps.

My 2002 ford escape in dash cd player gives me an error when i try to ejeck my cd's

You can take the unit to the dealer order an exchange unit. When you send in your old unit they will return the CDs. If it has a CD error they are not going to come out unless the unit is dismantled.

Ford Explorer 2003: pioneer: factory 6 CD error

i dare say your cd player has had something move internally from the shock of the accident and thats whats causing the fault. lol either that or someone has gone and forced a 7th cd into it. i think the cheapest and easiest way to fix this would be to get a fascia kit and a new cd player beacuse ford will charge like a wounded bull for a replacement one. this is what i did after i serviced my car and got given the wrong code for the cdplayer from the ford dealership

There is a CD jammed in the cd player. (6 cd changer) It is a 2004 Ford Escape

It happens to me all the time on my 2002. Try cycling the load and unload buttons for the stuck CD location. If that doesn't work try ejecting the CD. When the slot door opens, try putting another CD into the slot and push on the edge of the stuck CD.
