New fan light running continuosly

I have just installed 2 new fan lights in my front room. The 1st one i installed was furthest away from the light switch and was no problem, just 3 cables to swap over from the old ceiling rose to the new light. The cables were,Red,Black and Green. When it came to the second one nearest the light switch it was a different story. There were 3 Green cables all on one screw, 2 black cables on different screws, and 3 Red cables all on different screws. As there were only 3 screw openings on the new light i put all the same colours together,so 3 Green, 2 Black and 3 Red. When i turned the power back on the 1st one was fine ,but the second one with all the extra cables was running continuously whether the light switch was on or off. Many thanks for any help.

Lets see if i can help you out here, okay . Red is your hot power wire, Green is the ground which is screwed to mounting plate, black is negative, meaning no power.... connect your wires by color Red to Red , Black to Black , And if there is a green coming from the ceiling connect to mounting plate of fixture or vise versa. Remember to use eletrical scew caps, on all connections and do not leave any wires uncovered. Basically all your doing is a seperation of a wire from wires as you seperate a wire cap it off. then move to the next set and do the same. red to red black to black green to mounting plate . YOU WIL NOT BLOW ANYTHING UP IF THERE IS A WRONG CONNECTION, if all wires are of color follow these steps, if no color switch one wire try switch and vise versa YOU can do it

My hoshizaki ice maker is making 1st harvest then nothing. I check the freon pressure is ok.

There should be a blinking light on the circuit board that will give you an idea of what is or is not happening. Off the top of my head I would say that a high head pressure or temperature would lock it out like you describe. Is the water line big enough to carry the needed water flow? Is it piped like they want it piped? Its pretty critical that way. If the water supply line is going through a hot area it may be too hot to carry additional heat away from the refrigeration system. The air cooled units don't like hot rooms either. Hope this helps and good luck.

Frigidaire freezer problems

please check this and fix it. God bless you

Usually no. If your dehumidifier is running constantly and the water container is not filling up at least once a day, there may be something wrong with the dehumidifier. But if the unit runs constantly and the water container has to be emptied daily, there's just a lot of humidity in the room and the dehumidifier is doing what it's supposed to do.

Danby icemaker DIM3225BLSST, having drainage issues and trying to troubleshoot. Is the drain pump switch on if the "O" is selected, or the "----" ?

Thank you for being very descriptive. I would get the installer back out since it is new and probably still under warranty and instruct them to say with it until it has satisfactorily run a couple of cycles. They can easily troubleshoot this machine while they are on the job.

The freezer is running, and the light is all coming on but it is not freezing the contents in the freezer?

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly
If your sure the compressor is running and it is not freezing then there has to be a system coolant leak.
Having said that there are a few things to check:
1. Is the compressor in fact running Y / N
a. Yes = coolant level problem or coolant system blockage
b. Not running = (Possibilites below)
1) PTC / Klixon Thermal overload failure
2) Run capacitor failure
3) Temp control failure
4) Automatic defrost thermostat or thermistor
5) Defrost timer or Adaptive defrost control failure (depending on model)
2. Is the compressor very hot to the touch or room temp?
a. VERY hot = unplug the unit for at least 30 minutes and then plug it back in.
b. ROOM temp = any of the above in 1b items 1) - 5)
3. Is the evaporator fan running?
a. Yes = Temp control is ok Defrost system is probably ok
b. No = same as 2b

With a model number I could pass on a few additional things to do. For the moment use the above.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

Kelly

My freezer does not work all of the time. I HAVE NOTICED that the freezer get very hot at the top of the unit, I have measured this with a digital therm.and temperture was reading 136 degree F. and,the...

The first thing to check is the condenser coil at the bottom of the freezer. Take the slatted front cover off at the bottom where the compressor is located. You will see the conderser coils. This looks like a radiator with aluminum fins, about 16 by 16 inches square. Be sure the coils are clean. Since the compressor is close to the floor it pulls a lot of dust into the coils. You may need to take a long stiff bristle brush to get as much dust as possible off the coils. If this is stopped up, the unit will definately overheat very quickly. While you are down there make sure the fan behind the coils is running. There are several reasons the fan might stop running. The motor can burn out, something can impede the fan blades such as paper, or sometimes rodents. If the fan isn't running the compressor will overheat and shut off. Once you check these basic things, you may then have to address the problem of dissapating the heat. The answer to your question is yes, it will shut down if it gets too hot. You need plenty of air space behind and over the unit in your situation. The air needs to flow into the front bottom section of this unit and flow freely out the back. All commercial refrigeration is designed to operate in 75 degree areas. As your room temperature increases the efficiency of the freezer will decrease. It is not uncommon to find these units in kitchens where the temperature is 85 even 90 degrees. They will continue to work, but will probably run all the time. I would think if you could get 3 to 4 inches of space at the back of the unit and the two feet above the unit with clean coils and properly running fans, you should get better results. You MUST have free flowing air to keep the unit running. The ideal situation is to have the air flow directly through from front to the back of the compressor compartment. In your case, you may have to move the freezer away from the back wall and allow the air to flow up the back of the freezer and out over the top into the room. 2 inch holes are not enough.

2 months old should still be under warenty.

Check the freezer fan by opening the freezer door and pressing the door switch and listing for the freezer fan sound. If no sound then the fan motor could be bad.

Look at the back wall too see if you have frost build up. If you do then you have a defrost problem.

If thees are not your problem you could have a seal system problem. (( freon leak ))
