same stuff.i forget what the thing is called but its a burnt chip.its from playing too much, usually happens when you have one of those crappy coolers on the back.and by the way those coolers are only bad for your xbox.it blows more air back in to your xbox than it does out.just thought i'd try to save you guys some money

If the console is not under warranty (hence you removed the seal) there is a simple fix for this - Do not do the towel trick - harms the cpu and the gpu also only works for a little while.

This is a difficult solution to recommend but the towel trick does work, let it over heat the 360 for about 20
min, then let it cool for 20 more min, and it now works fine, I have a
inner cooler now to keep from overheating again.

- try to get a new consle if to much $ try sending to the manufraturer. that all that i can offer

Send it in to xbox they'll fix it. Takes forever but they'll do it. If you can make it that long.

I am waiting for my box from Microsoft to send in my console for repair on this issue. I figured I would try "the towel trick" while waiting and it worked. The First time it resurrected my console for about 5-6 hours. The second time It has worked for 2 days without the funky color problem.

Got a new 50 inch plasma, moved xbox to this and worked fine for some time. The colors got all distorted...like way back when your nintendo was set to channel 4 but you had tv tuned to channel 3...then moved it back to regular tv. Days later, no video at all...just audio. Still covered under Best Buy so sent in AV cable. Got new one and still and issue. Guess the whole Xbox is going to have to go back. Odd though, browsing xbox forums and here...this all seemed to start happening May to July 2008. Hmmm.

The screen at first was not displaying all the colors and graphics correctly. And now I just have the sound. I changed the cables and that worked for one session but now Its more of the same... Great sound blank screen.. I wiped down the plugs, switched inputs, and did some praying. No luck yet,

My screen turned green, sometimes only in darker areas. The next day I go to turn it on and no video only sound and little white dots moving diagonally down the screen. I tried different cables and checked all connections. But I fear I have a bad video card.
