Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
I was playing and one day i turned it on and the sound worked perfectly but the screen dident come up i bought new cables still nothing so what do i do.........

All right i had the same problem i used to play my xbox everyday and it would get over heated but over the months i started doing other things...... ; ) idk if not playing your xbox suddenly has anything to do with or not. But anyways i unplugged all the colored wires that go into the tv. Then i turned the xbox on. Next i plugged the video wire in first and the screen turned on fine. then i put the sound wires in and now it is working like it did before.
P.S. Sex is fun =)

DON'T OVER HEAT YOUR CONSOLE ! this is always
a temporary fix and will greatly reduce the chances of a solid
reliable repair , Trust me I've seen many units with warped PC board
and they prove difficult to repair.
First the problem is a slight warp Concave or Convex distortion
directly under the G.P.U. If you re-flow the chip and then properly
clamp it down so the board is true and level again your console
will give you 6-12 months of trouble free operation .I currently have
25 beta unit that are 8 months and running cool with no problems
other than a drive issues once in awhile..
Re-flow The G.P.U. and clamp level normally is a solid fix.
It as simple as that.
If you have any questions feel free to ask

If the console is not under warranty (hence you removed the seal) there is a simple fix for this - Do not do the towel trick - harms the cpu and the gpu also only works for a little while.

I am waiting for my box from Microsoft to send in my console for repair on this issue. I figured I would try "the towel trick" while waiting and it worked. The First time it resurrected my console for about 5-6 hours. The second time It has worked for 2 days without the funky color problem.

This is a difficult solution to recommend but the towel trick does work, let it over heat the 360 for about 20 min, then let it cool for 20 more min, and it now works fine, I have a inner cooler now to keep from overheating again.

Towel trick , can cause perminent damage to xbox, works for few days or a few hours before u have to do it again, the teick is wrap xbox in 2-3 towels turn xbox on let it overheat and then let it cool then play, until it happens again
CAUSES PERMINENT DAMAGE... But a good solution if u want immediate play

Send it in to xbox they'll fix it. Takes forever but they'll do it. If you can make it that long.

- take apart your xbox
-then take out the board
- then take off heat exsorbers in the back and replace them cause there worthless
(replace them with 8 pennies but 4 sets of 2 wraped in electrical tape and then put thermal paste down and let them stick
-then take the X clamps off
-then take off the cpu and cooling rod
-then take goo gone with a little bit of viniger with a cue tip and clean the 3 chips it was sitting on
- then take some thermal paste and slightly rub a litttle on just a small layer
-then put the cpu and cooling rod back on
- make sure everything is put together right
-then turn on ur xbox
-if it dosnt work right away keep it on so it gets a little bit of heat so it makes the thermel paster stay and stick
-then you should have ur xbox up and runin
And if a 15 year old can do it im pretty sure u can to
Tools you will need
-tork screw dirvers
Thanks hope it works@@@!!!

I highly suggest following the advice in post #17. He is completely correct.
Some facts about the towel trick:
Will it fix your 360? Yes and No. It will make it work for a little while, hours, days maybe a couple weeks. However if you do that you will do permanent and possibly unrepairable damage to your console. You are essentially ruining your console permanently in order to play right now. Is it worth a new console?
If you are having these problems and you are under warranty send the box in to Microsoft. Go to www.xbox.com/support. Remember the warranty for the 3 rings and E74 error are 3 years now.
If you are not under warranty I highly suggest getting a skilled professional to repair your console. If the repair is not done correctly you run the same risks as the towel trick, destroying your machine.

SOURCE: xbox 360 screen wont show up
try to replace again with another wires. sometimes new wires got factory defects. after you replace it with a new one, test it on their xbox if its correctly functioning after that test it on your xbox. hope that helps sir!
