Question about HP OfficeJet Pro K8600 Printer

1 Answer

It starts printing, then stops, the printer cartrige is jammed

The message say's, "something has stopped the printer cartridge from moving." It is a HP Officejet Pro K8600, hooked up to a mac... and have added the duplexing cartridge to the back. I have opened the top lid and pressed the continue printing button to move the cartridge, it did move back and forth, but I didn't see anything jamming the cartrige. I suspect that there may be a piece of label paper jammed in some where but can't figure out where. My printer cartridges are getting stuck on my paper and jamming the printer. I tried all of the steps on the HP site to fix it but cannot fix it. Thanks!

Try emoving the duplex cartridge on the back (return printer to it's original configuration) and try printing. If the printer prints OK, then re-attach the duplexer checking for anything that could interfere with the print cartridge.

If the printer doesn't print, then I suspect something has fell into the printer and is creating enough resistance for the printer to detect and report. Turn the printer off, Remove all the cables from it. Try inverting the printer and gently shake it to see if anything falls out that could be jamming the printer cartridge.

I'm trying to print and i always get a paper jam in door one. If I open the back door, the paper comes out 1 inch and stops. The paper is getting 95% printed on and then gets jammed. I changed the toner...

Hello,

1. You have to clear paper feed roller
- to do this just follow simple steps:
- open fron cover
- remove toner cartridge
- use wet cloth (water or alcohol) to clear rubber feeder
- put toner cartridge back
- close front door

2. If the problem persist - chek all paper path sensors for lack of moving.

Good luck!

HP PSC 1610 printer gives error message: Carriage Jam, clear carriage. I open the door and there isn't a Jam. I tried the solution (clean cartridge, turn off/on couldn't reset) posted by nanotech 9 Aug...

If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.

Follow the steps for fix HP Printer Carriage Jam

  • Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck.
  • Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side.
  • Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Printer is not working

Try pushing the print head carriage with a bit of gentle force. It is getting stuck, and hence the error. You may have to open side and top covers to reach this. Note: this is not the cartridges, but another device that moves back and forth on the slider carriage.

HP 7660 "Print Cartridge Cradle is Stuck" Message

I was having same problem but it was a paper jam all the time and then it started to state Cairrage Jam. And what was happening was the unit the cartridges sit in was not going all the way to the right. A little nudge and you could feel it move. Closed lid and sometimes it would print but eventually it would fail. Just replaced but I suspect if you can get to the cairrage you could clean/repair whatever was keeping it from going all the way to the right.

Hope that helps!

Carrier jam

Two solutions for you: 1)There seems to be a coating on the metal rod that the cartridges travel on. See it back there? With the power disconnected, wipe this rod with a kleenex and the problem seems to go away. It presents a drag on the cartridges and causes the problem. You might have to GENTLY forcibly slide the cartridge a bit to each side to finish cleaning the rod. ONLY DO THIS WITH THE POWER OFF!! 2) Or you can also turn off your printer, then slide the cartriges all the way to the left, and GENTLY wipe the encoding strip running right behind the cartrige carrier.(it will look like a translucent piece of plastic strip in most printers). Wipe it down with a soft cloth gently, then slide the cartriges all the way to the right, and repeat this process. When you are done, simply close the cover, power back up, and see if it will print a test page for you. ZT3000 "Beta tester of "0"s and "1's"
