Go to the Panasonic website and it seems that you need to register in order to acess their drivers. Once register you should have access to the dirvers that you need. Good luck !

Go to control panel, performance and maintence, hardware, device manager, pick your hardware, then select details, this will give you the driver id, cut and paste in google and search away.....

Gps problem with panasonic toughbook

I recently had GPS problems on a series of
Panasonic Toughbook CF30's which all had
built-in GPS. The GPS had to be enabled in
the BIOS and when I tried to install drivers for
Windows 7 then I ran into problems.

In a pinch Vista 32-bit drivers can be used for
Windows 7 32-bit. Eventually since I needed the
GPS drivers to work I re-installed Windows XP
service pack 3 and no more problems.

Good Luck!

How to select a boot device

The Panasonic Toughbook CF51 may not be able to boot
from a USB external Hard Drive. When you press the F2
function key and go to BOOT devices, I believe that USB HDD
is NOT an option. However, when the drive is plugged-in
and you start the CF51, press the ESC key immediately.
All boot devices should be shown and you might be able
to boot from that menu. If not, then it is NOT bootable.
Good Luck!

Factory restore

The following information comes from the Panasonic Website:

Recovery DVDs are available by mail for select Toughbook® products. Windows® XP back up service is only available to customers who purchased Panasonic computers with XP downgrade rights. Windows XP Backup Image and Windows 7 Recovery DVDs restore a PC to its original factory image. The standard Panasonic factory image includes the Windows operating system and all drivers/applications originally installed by Panasonic.

Most 2011 models of Panasonic Toughbook computers now have a Recovery partition on the hard drive instead of a Recovery DVD included in the laptop box. The only exceptions are the Toughbook F9, H2 and U1 Ultra which will continue to ship with a Windows 7 Recovery DVD. Besides restoring the computer to its original factory image, the Recovery Partition can also be used to load 64-bit Windows 7 Professional (32-bit ships by default from Panasonic).

You can order the Recovery Disks here:

Install xp

To install Windows XP on a Panasonic Toughbook CF52
you have two choices:

1) Use a standard Win'XP Pro SP3 boot CD and then
then download each driver from the Panasonic Website:

http://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/itn/drivers/d_menu_en.html

2) Purchase the recovery disk from Panasonic directly
from the following website:

Here is what they say:
Recovery DVDs are available by mail for select Toughbook® products. Windows® XP back up service is only available to customers who purchased Panasonic computers with XP downgrade rights. Panasonic cf-74 toughbook cannot load win xp proff. i can load win 7 from usb drive, i can load win vista from cd disk. hdd shows up in bios, when trying to load win xp loads fine until says starting...

It sounds to me like you requre Win'XP Service Pack 3.
If you are using Service Pack 2 or earlier, there is no
SATA support which is why the HDD is not recognized.

Get Service Pack 3 and your problems will be solved.

Good Luck

Windows xp installion does not see my hard drive on Panasonic CF-74

Just a thought but are you using XP Pro SP2 or SP3?

In my experience, only XP Service Pack 3 will see your
Hard Disk Drive, not XP Service Pack 2.

I installed windows xp pro and i have no sound cf-50 toughbook CF-50BB2NUDM I`ve tried Realtek and the panasonic sound driver download site nothing has worked so far.

Have you check Device Manager and under sound, video and game controllers to see if you have any yellow ? marks next to anything. You would go to start-control panel-system-hardware-device manager.
If you have any yellow marks missing then you will need to find the driver for those.
It may be a codec that you need too.
Also Start/ control panel/ Sounds check that MUTE is not selected and that volume is UP.
Could be these drivers that you need Audio Output: Sound card Audio Codec: STAC9751 Compliant Standards: AC '97.
Check this site and make sure you have the complete model number, There are several different ones for your Cf51 that should look like this CF-51xxxxA/H/Qxx (mk1) . Some model numbers require that you have Sevice Pack 2 or SP2 for windows installed for the sound driver to work.

Try hitting F8 right when Windows starts up. You will get a text menu with options. Try "last known good configuration" and see if that helps. If it doesn't you may be able to get it working by reinstalling XP and choosing "Repair",which will try and replace all your windows files with the original ones.

If that doesnt work then you will have to reload XP from scratch. If you have to do that then install service pack 2 before any other software or drivers.
