    Hi,

Still there is one trick that might work...

Linksys Support: Unfortunately, our WPS54G driver is not yet compatible for Windows Vista. However, we can still use the printserver by using the LPR port to add the printserver on the computer. Our only printserver that is known working with Vista is the WPSM54G. So, instead of using the driver, we can add an LPR port on your printer properties and set the port to the IP address of your printserver. Do you know the printserver IP address? Once you have the IP address, go to Printers on Vista computer and complete the following:

    1. Right click on the printer icon and click properties.
    2. Click Ports tab and make sure to uncheck the Enable bidirectional support and printing pooling.
    3. Click on add port, select Standard TCP/IP port, then click on new port (note : not new port type).
    4. Click next once prompted with the Welcome screen.
    5. Type the IP address of the print server and click next.
    6. Select Custom and click settings.
    7. Choose LPR under Protocol, type L1 on Queue Name, hit ok.
    8. Click on next. Click Finish. Click close. Click apply and then ok.

Me: Still lists printer as "offline"

Linksys Support: Please right click your printer icon and select Use the Printer Online.

    Thanks.

Do rate this solution as "Fixya' if 1005 satisfied.

Linksys wireless prnt server

Hi,

Based on your post description, I am assuming that:
1. You can connect to the Internet through your 2241 Neptoia modem;
2. You can access your WRT54G V8 Linksys Wireless router @ 192.168.1.1;
3. Both 1 & 2 above could be done through a wireless connection from your PC.

Connect everything as they are supposed to be wired (printer, Print Server, modem, router etc)

Pls try:
a. Connect the Linksys wireless print server using a lan cable to the Linksys WRT54G Wireless AP/router. (Will tackle the wireless connection a bit later)
b. Reset your print server; &
c. Do a diagnostic print-out.
Instructions for b & c are in page 4 of your manual.

You need to verify that:
i. the Power indicator is contnously green
ii. the Ethernet indicator is contnously green
iii. the USB indicator is contnously green
iv. the Wireless indicator may or may not be contnously green

Pls post back with the generated diagnostic print-out before we can proceed with the other steps.

Additionally, try installing the Epson Stylus Photo RX600 direct to one of the USB ports of your PC. Use the installer/driver CD that came with it. Try using it as a regular printer. This will tell us status of the printer.

Good luck and kind regards.

I can't install the router from the CD to my computer, I follow the steps, but when it says please wait reconizeing your router, it want reconize it says check the ethernet conections.

You don't need to install a wireless router. unplug your modem, connect the ethernet cable from your modem to the port on your router labeled internet or WAN, and then plug in the modem and router. Connect your computer to the network and you should be online.

Need working Windows 7 driver for Linksys WUSB54G V.1.0 Adapter

This driver should work with Vista, and based on the FAQ it should work with 64-bit although it wasn't designed for the 64-bit OS.

If the link doesn't work, let me know. I'll direct you to the download page to retrieve the driver.

Upgrade failure

The software that came with the WPS54G model is not (yet)compatible with Vista systems. This model is not listed on the Vista-ready devices from Linksys' website (www.linksys.com/vista). The behavior more likely a result of a software incompatibility.

For PrintServer network setup, you may still use the CD on a non-Vista system (XP, Win2000 or lower). Or, by installing it manually by accessing it's web interface.

To make your Vista working with the printserver WITHOUT the use of the PrintServer CD, do the ff:
1. Make sure PrintServer is configured on the network with the same wireless settings of your router and with a manually assigned IP address which is in range of the router's IP segment.
2. Make sure that computer can print locally to the printer (e.g. via USB connection to the printer).
3. When computer can surf the net and connected to the router's network (wired or wireless), follow the steps from this article and make sure Printer is showing up as Online.

Goodluck!
