Set the gap at .012in and still did not get Spark.

Know anything about the magnet flywheel. Rotate the flywheel around and feels like there is a lack of magnet pull?

Could magnet flywheel get weak over usage causing a lack of magnet strength?

Totally loss now and still no spark.

magnets usualy do not go bad.silly question, but how fast are you spinning the flywheel?some of the newer saws need to spin readly fast to create a spark.if your not spinning fast enough it will not have spark....also how are you checking your spark?i have seen brand new spark plugs be bad right out of the box.try another plug just to make sure that is not your problem.please let me know......

One more try before I trash it. I have a poulan p3314 chainsaw. It is 2 years old. Installed new carb, fuel lines, air filter, and spark plug. Fuel is routed properly. Can't get unit to fire. Any ideas.

Check the gap between the magneto and the magnet on the flywheel, if it is too much of a gap you wont get spark. We are talking .007 inches or less. You need a feeler gauge to set this

No spark,"Gardentech" (Netto/Aldi) how can I test ignition unit?

no meter needed just take the spark plug out then hook the coil wire back to it, try to find a dark area then hold the spark plug to the head anywhere that's metal and have a friend try to start it or do so yourself with the switch on of course. If it sparks at the end of the plug then the coil is good. If not install new plug , repeat procedure. Also, check all wire connections and ohlm out the switch why your at it.

What is the spark plug gap setting on a husquavarna chainsaw

Have you looked in the gas tank for a broken gas line? They become brittle and break. Very common.

Saw wont start has gettin fuel and spark but how do u check the coil for proper spark , has new plug pregapped

As long as there is a spark visible it should start, most of these units work off speed of rotation so there will not be a blue spark unless you crank the engine fairly fast with the plug out, spark tester are usually a dummy plug with a larger gap than normal to load the ignition up, they are fairly cheap, however you could just increase the gap on a standard plug out to about 6mm and see if the spark will jump that, on a side note make sure the plug is well earthed on the cylinder and well away from the open plug hole.

Husqvarna 455 rancher Starts fine and runs great for about 5 mins. Stalls and wont restart until cold. Problem than repeats

Try removing the fuel cap for a moment to see it can be restarted immediately. If this works, check the fuel tank vent for plugging problems. Also, check for spark at the plug when it dies--if no spark, try a fresh plug gapped at 0.020". If nothing, the ignition module may be failing with heat. Good luck!

Chainsaw wont start. new plug has a little spark.

The engine case needs to be removed to expose the flywheel and ignition module. Check the module pole gap to the flywheel magnets with a thin business card for a gauge. If the gap is excessive, that can give a weak spark. If the gap appears to be correct, then it is probably time for a new ignition module. Make sure the spark plug is gapped at 0.020" before condemning the module. The spark should be blue and snappy. Check it in a dark area. Hope this helps!

Poulan saw wont start has spark and fuel

Look for a pinched/bare stop-switch wire (I assume that you don't have spark now). Also, check the ignition coil core gap to the flywheel magnets (I use card stock to set the gap). Make sure the plug wire was not damaged again.

It wont start it has a light spark is it the coil

With a new spark plug set at .020", there should be a fat, snapping, blue spark with a magneto. Electronic systems require several good pulls in succession to generate good spark. Other than setting pole gap, there is not is not much you can do for electronic types except replace the whole unit. Magnetos have points and condenser to play with. The points are usually the prime problem with dirty/oily contacts or improper point gap (.020") at the high point of the cam. Coils are a more rare problem.
