Look for a Num Lock button on the keyboard, press that and then check to see if its still going to give you numbers. If it still does, press it again.

Left side of keyboard 123456789 is not working

Do you mean the right side of the keyboard is typing numbers instead of letters?
If so, you have enabled the NumLk which turns the RHS of the keyboard into the number pad.
Press the NumLk key near F11, F12 function key and the NumLk LED will switch off and return your RH keys back to letters.

My keyboard types numbers instead of letters.

Hi bmamba01,

I saw your post about your keyboard typing in Numbers instead of letters.

If I may ask when did this happen?

If this only happen just recently you can try doing a system restore to an earlier date when the issue has not happened yet, but if that does not work you can try holding down Fn+Numlock key to see if the numbers will type in letters again...

Also you can try to look for programs that was recently installed before the issue started, if there were programs installed before the issue happened try uninstalling that program/s to see if the problem will go away.

Try checking for spyware and malware on your computer s well to see if this is caused by any updates that may have occurred just recently.

To find out if this is a hardware failure on the keyboard you can back up any personal data that maybe important in you computer then reinstall windows on you system to see if the issue will still happen on a freshly installed windows then most probably the keyboard on you machine may need replacing.

You can call the manufacturer of you machine to see further options if ever the system is still in warranty then your keyboard replacement maybe covered by the warranty unless water was spilled on the keyboard that could have caused the issue, but I'm sure that isn't the case since the system is still functional and powers up right.

I hope this can help.

Thank you for choosing Fixy,

When typing it shows numbers instead of letters, (when using the right part of my keyboard, ) Please give a solution to get rid of this problem

Hello,

If this is happening only on the right side of you keyboard this usually means that the Number Lock (Num Lock) was turned on.

To turn in off simply select the "Fn + Num Lock" buttons to disable it.

Letters are typing as numbers

one of the F keys turns certain keys on the right side to number keys, so it can act like a full size keyboard with the 10 key panel on the right.. Look carefully at the F keys to determine which one it is. Or consult the manual.

Hi, I've got 2 eeepcs, with identical problems,

When the RH side of the keboard types numbers instead of letters then the Num Lock (number lock) key has been pressed.
Press the Num Lock Key again to return to letters again, usually this is usually done by pressing the Fn key plus and probably the Scroll keys, this key will be also marked NumLk, and there will be a LED light that will indicate when the number lock is on.

Ibm thinkpad keyboard right side is #'s not letters

Hi,
You have accidentally turned on the "Num Lock", all you have to do is hit the Num Lock key to return the keyboard to normal, it is located at the top right hand side of the keyboard.
