Dell inspiron 6400 problem in switching on

Hey

My dell inspiron 6400 is not getting switched. When I push the power button, the led on the left panel blinks for a second and after only the led on the right panel glows. The screen is completely blank. I was able to run the diagnostic check by pressing the Function key and power button, and it was not showing any error in any of the hardware. I observed this problem two days before and then it got corrected automatically. Now again it has started. can anybody help me with suggestions

Thanks

    Thanks for reply....
yes I could see the DELL logo before diagnostic checks were started.
For normal starting there is no display at all. I could feel some
vibrations just next to the touch pad for two three seconds while
pressing the power button and after that nothing.... There is no bios
    beep sound also.

Power jack replacement Dell Inspiron 6400

When you press the power button, no lights, fans, beeps, anything?

Is the power jack moving around? If not, I would check the charger and cord to make sure power is getting through to the plug that goes into the jack.

This is a no boot issue. Youre saying that you can perfectly run the PSA diagnostics but doesnt load Windows rather it stays on black screen, meaning the boot loader of Windows failed to load. You need to reinstall windows on your computer

Switching on the laptop

Try holding the power button down for about 10 seconds. Then try turning it on.
Next remove the battery and try to start with just mains power.
Next replace the battery in the computer and let it charge.
If this does not work you will probably have to contact Dell
