It means to say that it is not getting enough power on the computer, check the power cable at the back of the tower and make sure the power cable is connected tightly. You can try taking it out and then putting it back in again to make sure it is connected firmly.

Hi,
if only leds are blinking then please check the following
1.the dell logo or any other thing is coming on monitor and if not then disconnect the vga cable and check any message is there on monitor if any message like power saving mode or no input signal is there monitor is ok.
2.check with the tapping of num lock if it is responding then disconnect all the cables and then press the power button for one minute and check after reconnecting all the cables.
3.if num lock is not responding might be the issue is with motherboard.

Hi Had power cut this morning and now the heat pump will not go. Green power light just keeps flashing and orange timer light on.

try turning the power off at the mains ( Isolator switch next to the unit or at the meter box.. Leave off for about 30 minutes as most AC units have a backup memory for when power goes off. Try restarting. If it still goes into a fault code mode ( flashing lights etc) there may have been damage done to the main board due to a power surge.

That's probably your battery life indicator. Your battery is reaching the end of its use and will need replacement soon. Try ebay for a replacement, it's usually less expensive

Dell laptop battery has 3 lights flashing when hit battery tester

You can't get the modern batteries to come back to life. Time to get a new one.
A suggestion: When using a laptop battery, run it on battery and discharge it until it shows about 2 to 3% charge left at least once a month. Do not keep charging it without letting it run down periodically. Most important--do not run always plugged in to line current.

Battery light flashes 4times orange then 1green

We had the same problem. I figured out it was NOT the main battery, but the auxilary battery. The batter life WITH the auxiliary was 68% total, when I removed the 2nd battery the battery life shot back up to 98% AND the flashing orange / red lights were gone (both on the power source and off). I then replaced the auxiliary battery with a spar back up to make SURE that it was not a fluke and with the new backup battery firmly in place the lights still did not flash. Problem solved.

No power whatsoever, but...

Try taking the battery out and running the laptop with just the AC adapter.

Also you should use a multimeter to test your AC adapter for voltage. If there is voltage from your AC adapter and the unit will not turn on with the battery removed then you have a faulty motherboard or another component in the laptop.

If it works without the battery all you need to get is a new battery or live with it without battery.

Flashing battery icon

Battery is shot, time for a replacement. Keep in mind that a Dell battery can aquire a dead short, this won't hurt the system, but it can keep the machine from starting up. If you find that your machine won't start up try pulling the battery.
