Well actually, my laptop basically came with a xp, quite some time ago i upgraded to vista. and it was all fine. until when i downloaded this Vista black edition something, and while downloading some files were missing, so the image file was a lil corrupt, so i still burned it onto a dvd and installed it.. while the installation was proceeding.. like when the extracting came.. it said the files were missing and the disc ejected.
EVER SINCE.. the bootable installation discs aren't bein read.. for like a day or two, then finally one day it finally read my xp installation disc and installed it, this xp is ****. it says battery driver missing, bla bla and all dat.. now then i finally downloaded the vista black edition PROPER disc image and burned it onto a disc and installed it onto another laptop that i have, it installed perfect, and works great!
but then when i wanted to get rid of this xp and install this vista
when i instert the disc it reads for like 4 mins and then when you open it manually from the ''MY COMPUTER'' it shows the dvd rom as empty, and when i restart my computer to bootup from my optical drive.
it doesnt boot up the cd! and i even tryed to boot up the WIndows 7 dvd! doesnt work? i even tryed installin the latest dvd rom updates from the sony website.. what else can i do? help please.. i really want to get vista back :(.
How did you made it boot to the disc? if you used keystrokes to do so, it would be better if you go into your BIOS and set the boot priority making the dvd drive as priority and see if it is gonna work that way. If it does'nt you need to be concerned about the drive itself, it might be having problems as well.
