Question about Sport & Outdoor - Others
When you wind the winch to raise / lower the roof a serias of cables connected to each corner of the camper push the risers and 'slug' inside a tube on each corner of the van which push the corner posts.
If you wind the roof up or down while the van is not level, this can cause a cable to come off or even break as it travels over a pully - worse still break inside a corner tube.
If the break is external of the riser tube you may be able to repair, otherwise replacement of the cable inside the riser tube is a difficult job for the average DIY repairer.
Hope this helps.

Depends where it is broken but you can buy cable splicing kits that enable you to join two broken ends together , any good caravan supplier would stock them , hope this helps smirf617
