Question about Acer Aspire 6530-5143 Notebook PC
I press the power button and the lites come on and fan starts then shuts off I press the power button, the lights all come on, fan kicks in and then comp goes off. It keeps on doing this.
I have repaired numerous laptops that suffered from the identical symptoms you are describing with your system. A blocked heatsink will normally caused the system to overheat and the system to shutdown as a precaution. Look at these before and after pictures, this might be what you find once inside your system. The build up of dust would not allow the air to flow into the heatsink, once removed the system was restored to full functionality. Good luck, keep us informed on your progress.
