I'm having the same issue, except i can't turn mine on. I noticed the monitor turning off every few seconds and coming back on, like it was possessed. I turned it off and now it won't come back on.

What's up with these flat panel monitors? I have 2 with the same problem... One is a BenQ and the other is an Acer. Both are just over a year old. Maybe the meantime between failure is kicking in already?.....

Well, I noticed this after I installed win xp sp3. My monitor won't turn offwhen I click the button. I have to set my power setting to a certain timeframe then require a relogin but the monitor just won't turn off otherwise.

It sounds like you may have faulty tact switches on the front control panel that are acting intermittently. If one of the switches is defective it can cause all kinds of erratic behaviour.

The problem is likely with your front panel control buttons - the CH up button (tact switch) is stuck on (shorted or changed value). In order to temporarily correct the problem remove the Ch up switch that is located on the front panel control board - it would have to be unsoldered- and then when one is available replace the "tact" switch.

Just won't work!!

Make sure there's power getting to the dishwasher. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the dishwasher (inside the junction box, behind the bottom kick panel), if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.

I would also advise to check the door switch as well. make sure the wires are connected to the switch and it is working. replace if found to be faulty.

Check the control as well. if the control is malfunctioning as you stated, this will be the logical solution here. replace the control board.

Power button won't turn off monitor

Problem is made by switches which are bad quality, you have to take your monitor to the nearest samsung service center or if you want you can change this switches by yourself. You can find them in conrad stores named phap3363 and art.nr: 700310 - 62.

How can i get my tv to stop automatically changing to menu screen?

slapshot,
What you have there could be one of three possibilities. Micro, eprom or tact switches... Tact switches are the small contact switches behind the buttons you depress to turn the volume up and down or change the channel. Sometimes these small switches can become contaminated or breakdown due to corrosion. What we call in the industry a windex syndrom, because the older crts on some models had the swiches exposed just below the lower ridge of the cry where when cleaning the screen windex could drip down onto the switch and cause the corrosion to begin.
Eprom is another likely suspect. This Ic is responsible for storing an array of information including customer settings and other logics convert what the eprom stores into electronic pulses for any number of fuctions. For example press the volume down on your Tv and the eprom has the information to show you the volume bar, the level the volume bar was last set at and the increments at which you are reducing it realtime.
The Micro is another possibility. It acts like a traffic cop engaging various circuits to do or not do something according to a preset list of conditions. Timers, looking at a particular input or yes even bringing up the menu is tasked through the micro controller Ic or micro for short.
The fact that you can eventually get the unit to operate suggests that something in the logic circuit is failing and will in all likelyhood continue to do so until eventually it doesn't work at all...
