Question about Logitech Cordless Desktop EX110

1 Answer

Wireless key board

I have used the wireless keyboard and mouse for about a year. Yesterday the mouse failed to operate so I bought a new mouse today.
The new mouse works fine but the keyboard doesn't allow me to type. When I set up the mouse it works fine. When I try to add the keyboard the mouse stops working and the keyboard still fails to function
I'm at a complete loss about wahat to do.
Thanks beforehand for your help and suggestions
I'm using the new mouse LX5 with the EX110 board.

Have you tried re-setting the frequency for one of the devices? simply click the button on the infra-red unit then click the button on the back of keyboard and notice the infra-red unit stopped scanning.

CANT ENTER MY PASSWORD TO GET IN MY COMPUTER KEYS NOT TYPING ON SCREEN ITS LIKE THE WIRELESS KEY BOARD IS NOT RESPONDING

My advice would be to put new batteries in the keyboard and see if that works, failing that, pick up a wired keyboard and mouse to log in to your system then re-connect the wireless set to re-install the drivers.

Brand new, sometime it misses a letter

Ah, wireless keyboards and mice...
The problem with using most wireless electronics in applications as sensitive as computer use, is that so many things share a close proximity of frequencies. Many wireless routers use 2.4 ghz frequency, as do many cordless phones. Interruptions in wireless products are, unfortunately, a part of the deal as of yet. This 'could' be making it miss a key.
Keyboards are also notorious for allowing a very low number of buttons to be active at one time. It may be that your typing speed and style has you accidentally pushing more buttons than the keyboard allows periodically.
It could be a defect, a not perfect connection on the 'board' of the keyboard that doesn't line up perfectly every time a key is pressed. Only expect this if the same key(s) repeatedly miss.
Lastly, it could be that you're just not used to the tension and feel of the keyboard yet. I know it took me awhile to get used to my laptop keyboard when I first bought it, after using the same desktop keyboard for near 5 years!
Hope my answer was inclusive and conclusive enough. Happy Holidays!
