Our Samsung ice maker is producing ice with black marks on it. Any suggestions?

We have emptied and cleaned the ice drawer, but it seems to be on the ice as it comes out of the maker

SOURCE: Ice maker drawer for sub-zero 632

Look at both those tracks on each side. its likely one or both are cracked or broken. Each one has 2 screws holding it in. To put the metal hange back in the tracks, you must get new tracks (if broken/cracked) then hold the2 tracks onto the bucket carriage...then stick thewhole thing in as an assembly, hen put the 4 screws back in. there are 2 more small screws way in the back (one on each side), but they do not have to be removed, only there to guide the racks in properly. these tracks are only about 7 bucks apeice, and shouldn't take long to chamge. Good Luck!

SOURCE: Kitchenaid superba side by side ice maker stopped producing ice

This is a picture of an ice maker module.  Which is behind the white plastic cover.  The cover just pops off.  Look at the two little tabs in the center of white wheel.  If yours is twisted, pressed together, or one is broken then the module is bad.  If not, take the icemaker out and let it set for a few hours to let it defrost.  Put it back in and see what you get.  The ice maker won't cycle and fill with water until it gets below freezing so you will have to wait awhile.  It can be started manually by inserting a jumper wire into terminal T and H.  Let it start to cycle for about 10 sec. then pull the wire out.  At the end of the cycle it will fill with water then wait for it to freeze.  Also, if door was left open check all vents in fridge for ice build up.  This cause cooling problems of they are plugged.  Let me know what you find.

SOURCE: Ice maker doesn't work

Help, help , help, Please.
I have one of the REFRIGERATOR MODEL: RS267LASH made by SAMSUNG about two years old.
For the past few months, I found that all of the accumulated ice in my ice maker had slightly melted and re-froze together, causing the spiral coil to lock into place. I had to pick at the ice in order to free the bucket from the freezer and completely remove all the ice.
It looks like the ice tray fills with water but doesn't turn over sometimes to empty the ice out. When more water is added to make more ice is dispensed into the tray and it overflows down into the bucket, out the chute and all down underneath the ice tray.

SOURCE: i have a Whirlpool refrigerator

The ice door located in the ice chute in the door is not closing. Allowing wam air in your ice bin which melts the ice at the bottom of your bin there for making a huge ice dam. Replace cirercut board at cost of 295.00

Samusung RFG297HDRS Ice maker not cold enough to produce ice.

Suspect that the rubber boot that runs all around the edge of your freezer door is deformed, allowing warm air to seep into your freezer. You will see where your temp sensor is located by clicking into the site of a parts supplier like ShopJimmy.com and pulling up their photo of the guts of your unit.

Found in the FAQ section on Samsung.com:
Samsung refrigerator freezers produce about 120 cubes per day, which is in line with most manufacturer specifications.
Empty the ice tray and let the unit run for 24 hours.
If fewer than 50 cubes are produced during the 24-hour test, then your refrigerator requires service. Please contact Samsung Service at 1-800-SAMSUNG to schedule a service appointment.
If your freezer is producing 50 to 90 cubes per day, try the following:
  • Set the freezer temperature display to a lower setting. Freezer temperature must be 5 degrees Fahrenheit or less for the ice maker to work properly.
  • Make sure that the water valve on the refrigerator water supply line is completely open. You can find the water valve where the refrigerator water supply line taps into your house water line.
  • If you have a water filter in your refrigerator, change the filter cartridge. For instructions, see your Users Manual.
If you want your freezer to produce more than 120 ice cubes in a day, try the following:
  • An ice maker typically makes 1 tray of ice every 90 minutes. To shorten the amount of time the freezer takes to produce a tray of ice, set the freezer temperature display to a lower setting.
  • If your refrigerator has a Power Freeze function, press the Power Freeze button to speed up the ice making process. In the Power Freeze mode, both the compressor and the freezer fan run for 10 hours continuously. The ice making interval is reduced from 90 minutes to 55 minutes. If the ice bucket fills in less than 10 hours, Power Freeze stops automatically.
NOTE: If you have just installed your refrigerator, it will take 6 to 12 hours for the refrigerator to produce ice.
You should throw away the first three batches of ice cubes that the ice maker produces (approximately 30 cubes) to ensure the ice maker is making ice from clean water.
