Question about HP Compaq nc6000 Notebook
Fan is spinning LEDs are lit how can i get past this problem. I have the same problem, and the BIOS does not give the option to perform the disk check (it is greyed out). There is an unusual sound coming from the PC, which I strongly suspect is the hard drive. Powering the PC down and back up again just keeps giving the same message.
If you get an error message - non system or disk error and the hard disk is not detected in the BIOS, then you most likely have a faulty hard disk and chances are you have also lost all your data.
If you are desparate to recover your data, there are data recovery companies that can retrieve data from faulty hard disks but it will cost you an arm and a leg for their services.
To get you computer operational again, you will need to replace the hard disk and install Windows, all the device drivers and your programs.
