Looks like something has been spilt down behind the spacebar or much dirt has accumulated in among the keys, or the spring has come unstuck the rebounds the spacebar back to it's original position. You will have to open the back of the notebook and try to assess what's wrong back there. I would asume that your spring has come loose from the spacebar and all that needs to be done is to clip it back into it's position, eithir that or a good clean to get rid of all the sticky matter that is back there.

If you look at the buttons that the space bar fits on to they are probably made of plastic and are in the shape of two letter "H"s joined at the centre.

Normal wear and tear causes one leg to snap off and it si impossible to fix them with glues

You can buy individual key bases off the net with and instruction of how to fit them

Why does the space bar only have a centre touch point

The reason for this happening is that the metal bar under your spacebar is not properly attached. It's time consuming to properly fix it, but it's an easy fix at that.

All you need to do is remove your spacebar and metal bar (shaped somewhat like a tall C, if held sideways). On the bottom of the spacebar will be approximately 2-3 small clips in which the metal bar will snap into. Once snapped into place, you will want to look at the area where the spacebar goes. There should be two small clips at each end. With the metal bar clipped into the spacebar, you want to place the "ends" of the metal bar under the clips on the keyboard and very carefully place the spacebar into the hole on the keyboard and snap it into place. Now test it out and it should work fine. If not, it's likely that the metal bar came out from under the keyboard clips. The annoying part is snapping the spacebar into place without having the metal piece come out from under those clips, so you may need to perform this task a few times.

The sapcebar had poped off and all the parts are still fine and arent missing or broken is there anyway that I can fix it without bringing my computer back to get it fixed?

Just place the space bar back on the keyboard, align it in its correct position and push down on the space bar key until it clicks in place.

The two pieces of metal should snap into small slots on either side. Then you press it straight down so the plastic piece locks into the button on the membrane on the keyboard assembly. Good Luck

Keyboard spacebar sticking

Just solved it, after a bit of tinkering...

the prongs of the floating plastic frame need to sit inside the clips of the spacebar key, you can't just clip it back on with the prongs either up or down. It's fiddly, you need a paperclip or thin screwdriver to do it, but it's stopped the sticking problem.

I took off the spacebar and now i have trouble putting it back on to work properly

Just separate the retainer from the spacebar as good as you can and then put it in the little hooks on the left and right sides and then angle the key a little bit and snap it on. It took a while for me but I did it! :)

Spacebar was pulled off

These can be tricky to snap back into place. YOu have to make sure the wire used to help hold the spacebar in place is in correctly before you can snap it back on.

You have to make sure it is on the correct way or you will install it backward and it will look funny and get stuck. If you fail to put it back on correctly you can always use a butterknife or a flathead screwdriver to pop it off and try again.

Are any of the connection parts damaged? Does it still look like it will reconnect?
