1 Answer

Can no longer drain tub unless I use a piece of plastic under the plug and use this to pull the plug out after the bath

Tub plug no longer raises enough to drain tub when you turn fixture on face of tub which should cause the plug to raise up.

At the base of the plug there is normally a stud with a thread on it to allow you to raise and lower the plug so that it seals or empties.

If that is not how your oulet is made then there is a lever behind the or to the side of the outlet underneath the sink, that also is adjustable on most sinks.

Sometimes it is via a spring clip which rusts and loses its grip

The drain may have been installed incorrectly. It should not be that easy to "pop" open. In normal operation, you push it down until it latches in the closed position. Afterwards, you push it down to unlatch it and start draining.

How to remove bath tub pop-up stoppers

Put the lever in the open position so that you can grab the stopper. After you get a grip on it, put the lever in the closed position and the drain plug and rocker assembly will pull out in a horizontal direction.

Why does my geberit bath waste plug leak water?

It's adjustable. Remove the drain lever from the side of the tub. Now you can withdraw the whole drain assembly. Clean it well, then reinsert it to see if that fixed the problem. If not, try adjusting it longer.

I connected a hose extension to the continuous drain hose on the unit. I ran the hose into the tub, but water still goes in the tank. There is water in the hose too, but doesn't seem to drain in the...

Andre, the problem lies in the length of the hose (should be no longer than 5 feet) and trying to drain it into the bath tub. Your dehumidifier relies entirely on gravity to drain. It will not drain upward over the edge of the bath tub. Water gets trapped in the hose, because of this and creates a blockage. When that happens, water is diverted back to the tank.

For continuous darinage, it should be into a floor drain or a sump. So unless yo have one of the aforementioned, continuous drainage is not an option for you.

Hope this helped you understand how it works and what your options are.

Unless you can get to the bottom of the tub either through the floor below or the wall in front of the tub.... you do not want to do that...
To change it you may need to change some of the piping to the tub drain....
It is possible that you can take a needle nose pliers and turn the tub piece out by sticking the pliers through the webing in the tub drain and turn the CCW also.....but if the bottom piece is not the same thread.. or the piece moves... you may not be able to get the new piece started and then your in BIG trouble...

Slow tub drain

I am not completly sure about the kohler, but i think that you have a toe tap drajn. You should be able to un-screw it counter clockwise.IF you can get it un-screwed look at the bottom of the toe tap. There will be a screw or a plastic nut.I beleave that you loosen it to raise the drain I hope my information is correct,I will certanly do some research on your drain.

! goes over the threaded piece that screws into the piece that goes under the tub...and the other goes between the tub and the waste assembly thereby creating a sandwich with one on top and one underneath the tub....then screw the piece down tight through the tub and into the waste assembly and your good to go.....

Good luck and thanks for rating my effort.....the Fang.

Bath tub drain

You need to replace the overflow cover with the lever on it.You can replace the entire piece or just the faceplate. There is a spring on most of these that holds the lever in place when thrown and that is the piece that is broken causing your issue. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Clogged drain

there is plastic plug that is used to stop the drain, when you pull the handle.
seems like the chain is broken off the the drain plug. the drain plug is one way plug.
the only suggestion I have is to open the backwall or the ceiling to get to the drain pipe. then you have to open the drain in order to fix this problem.
there is no easy fix, since you can't get to the plug that is in the drain, and the more you pull, the tighter it gets.
I don't suggest try to push the plug down, it may clogged the drain somewhere else.
