Question about Avid Xpress Pro - (bundle) (05600360101) Video Capture
I have an avid expres pro system which has recently crashed and I lost all my projects, anyway, since reboot and so on, all the settings were lost, as were the projects. On rebuilding the new user, I now find that when I capture, i dont see it in the preview left window (Although it does record in) and on playback, the picture remains static, (If I scroll you can see all the pictures) but the soundtrack plays okay. Equally so, if I make up a new sequence, picture remains static. Therefore I cannot edit. Is this something to do with the graphics card in the computer perhaps, or is it some kind of setting that the avid has reverted back too. Your comments please.
Can you set up an external monitor (like a client monitor) and change the setting to view through external monitor it is worth checking if this works, (even if you can't) it is worth changing this setting and then change it back. I have had issues with lagging picture wile capturing in the past and swaping the input from SDI to Composite and back again has worked for me. If your graphics card seems to be still working with other software packages I doupt it is this but reinstalling avid could clear up issues (just back up what you've re-captured).
