Question about ASUS CUV-NT (CUVNTWOTVWOV) Motherboard

1 Answer

Power Switch I cant get my motherborad to even start. I replaced an old motherboard with this one now i cant get it started. i think it may be my power switch because i had to replace it too. I dont know where and what order to place the wires for thre LED light and the power switch. I Know that everything is plugged in right, like the powersource and such, and i know the plug into the wall works because i just used it for something else, thats all i think the problem is, i just need to know who to fix it.

Re: Power Switch

This board I think is an OEM board built by Asus for HP computers. Also named Pegasus.
Go here to find a PDF manual for that particular board -
On page 22, the last page, it shows you the pin-out for the connections for the front panel, ie - power button, reset, led's, etc. Hope this helps.

My pc starts up without pressing power button, cant switch it off with power button so iff i switch it off on the power supply and switch it back on it immediatly starts up not showing anything on screen...

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error even something as small as a faulty electrical extension or fan lead can cause this problem hope this helps

Hi my dell inspiron 1520 not starting when power button is switched on..the power light blinks and goes off..and the system doesnt start. I had shown the laptop ito dell service center and they have...

The most common reasons are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.

Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

But, if you paid for the Dell service, Dell needs to fix the problem. Sounds like they replaced the motherboard with another faulty one.

Hope this helps.

Use jumper to reset cmos. Test or replace cmos battery.Unplug evthing( HDD,CD,DVD,FLoppy) try to start barebone. Test voltage from power supply to motherboard. Try different ram. Good Luck.
