"Double" electrical switch has failed to function

This is an "electrical" problem, but I don't see such a catagory. I have a bedroom light that can be turned on/off from either the wall or the bed. Suddenly, the wall switch has stopped functioning, while the be switch still works. What could the problem be?

In a standard 3-way switch arrangement you can turn the light on or off from each position.  If the wall switch has failed then only the bed switch will turn the light on/off.  Replace the wall switch with a new 3-way switch.

How to turn off floor lights

Hi Bill,
This sound like a simple switch failure.
1. Isolate the power.
2. Disconnect the load from the switch and make safe.
3. Reinstate power.
The lights should be off thus indicating switch failure. Replace the switch. If the lights are still on then you have a double feed to the circuit which requires further investigation by a competent person.

Upper oven problem,

The Keypad (membrane) switches seem to be malfunctioning, this is very common on ovens these days especially if the unit has been self cleaned often. If you replace the membrane switch the unit should have all its functions again.

I have no up stair lights after going to turn on bedroom light nothing I noticed that the other bedroom lihgt had gone out so I changed the bulbs and the fuse in the fuse box made no difference Ithen...

hi if the rose has caused the problem then the mains wire may be damaged, it can also damage the fuse RCB0 B6 fuse, this will not let power though until the fault is fixed. it would be best to get an electrician to fix this problem as its dangerous to open the fuse box to fix the problem.

Wiring a 2 gang light switch

Okaaay, but which is the permanent live from the lighting circuit, which is the switched live back to the ceiling light, which is the neutral from the lighting circuit?
You may need to open the ceiling rose to see how the red/yellow/blue are wired.
On the switch the terminals are usually diagonal, ie L on the top matches with L1 and L2 on the bottom. L1 and L2 on the top match with L on the bottom.
So you want permanent live from the lighting circuit to go to L and a short piece of wire linking that to the other L.
One of the L1 is switched live back to the lighting circuit.
Other L1 is switched live to the cabinet light. (Red?)
Presumably you also need to connect the neutral from the lighting circuit to the neutral to the cabinet light. (Black?)

Have you got a magic eye in the bedroom,if so the little red light should be on,if it is not then you are not getting a signal from the main box.You need to check the 2nd rf output is switched on in the main box.

Arc fault breaker trips sporadically

Are there any heaters anywhere in the circuit for this breaker? (ie: bathroom fan w/light and heater) If yes, I would suspect and inspect them first. Also, any type breaker will trip more easily if the electrical connection screws on the breaker are not tight enough...check to make sure that's not the case.

Fan/stove light switch broke needs replacing

The original fan switch for the SEG196 (circa 1995) is a four terminal switch- two for the fan and two for the light . Note that the switch spade lugs for the red and blue wires (which when connected activate the fan) are larger than those for the white and brown wires (which when connected activate the oven light). This design presumably prevented miswiring of the switch at original assembly. Since the four terminal switch is nearly impossible to find (it was discontinued several years ago), an inexpensive fix is to replace the four wire switch with a two wire SPST toggle switch. However, this means that either the fan function or the light function can be preserved- not both. I elected to keep the fan function, and simply wired the red & blue wires to the two terminals of a heavy duty replacement SPST toggle switch. Be sure to fully insulate the remaining (in this case) white and brown wires with electrical tape or wire nuts before tucking them below the new switch. Total cost: $6.00 for switch. My daughters lights

Sounds like you may have possibly one or two three way switches improperly wired.
Without actually seeing the circuitry is will be hard to diagnose without more information.
