Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Open Question

Cartridge jam I have a HP 6110 and after putting in a new batch of paper, a message appeared on the screen 'open front cover, clear cartridge jam and press enter', but there does not appear to be a jam, and pressing enter, just makes a clacking noise and the cartriges shoot from one side to the other and then back again. Nothing will print, but paper will feed through. Can any one help?

SOURCE: Paper Jam

there maybe some obstruction on the paper path, inspect visually any sign of abnormality in this area, replacing the ink would not cause this.

it is touching something thats why t is crooked, either small piece of paper, dirt, caked ink, or hardened ink on the roller, feeding unit may have some plate mis adjusted, misaligned feeeding tray as well. try this

cheers

SOURCE: automatic document feeder does not work-- does not pick up paper

as soon as you load the original on the ADF you get the message as original loaded..check if you get this message..
if you do not get this message..try cleaning the rollers with the lint free cloth(dry cloth)..try to make a copy..if its still the same..
then connect the printer directly to the wall outlet..and then check..
if its still the same then try these steps..
1)unplug the power chord from the back of the printer..press and hold OK and CANCEL button together..
2)while pressing these two button plug in the power chord to the back of the printer..
3)after you plug in the power chord do not release those two buttons untill the screen goes blank..
4)once the screen is blank release the buttons and then turn on the printer..
5)then try to make a copy from the ADF..if its still the same..then machine should be replaced..
let me know if this has worked..

SOURCE: automatic document feeder does not work-- does not pick up paper

Hello,

Here, you will find information on feed issues with the ADF. If you still have problems, you can find information on the "clear jam" error here.

If the above fails, you can find information on paper pickup issues and also how to perform a partial reset here.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate this information.

Thanks

SOURCE: automatic document feeder does not work-- does not pick up paper

Yes, I had the same problem, and I finally got it to work. I took the printer apart and removed any paper that was stuck in the ADF in the top and it in the duplex in the back. I then did a reset and it still would not work. What I did was to turn off the printer by hitting the power button, unplug the power cable and let it sit for while so it loses its memory. then follow the instructions on HP web site on how to do a power cycle.

Solution four: Perform a power cycle
1. Turn the product off.
2. Unplug the power cord from the product.
3. Wait 30 seconds, and then connect the power cord to the product.
4. Turn the product on.
5. Make a color copy by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the control panel.
If the copy job is successful, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
If the error message displays again, proceed to the next solution.
Solution five: Reset the product
Follow these steps to reset the product.
Step one: Perform a partial reset
1. Disconnect the power cord from the product.
2. Press and hold # and 3 while reconnecting the power cord to the product, and then release both buttons.
3. Try making a color copy by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the product control panel.
If the partial reset resolves the issue, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
If the error message displays again, proceed to the next step to try a semi-full reset.
Step two: Perform a semi-full reset
CAUTION: Performing a semi-full reset deletes any saved phone numbers on the product.
1. Disconnect the power cord from the product.
2. Press and hold # and 6 while reconnecting the power cord to the product, and then release both buttons.
3. Try making a color copy by pressing the Start Copy Color button on the product control panel.

In my case it still would not work, so I turned the printer off for about an hour so the memory would be erased. Then after I got it on I did a factory reset. - press setup, press 6, then press 3.

I'm so excited, my printer is now working again. HP would not repair it for me and would only send me a newer model, but the older ones are easier to repair and parts are available. My email address is: edwina.mann@comcast.net . Good luck.

Error message= open door clear carriage jam and

I think the message is instructions, as in
(1) open door (2) clear carriage jam (3) press enter
So there is something internal to the printer that makes it think it has a carriage jam, piece of paper under a sensor, dirty or stuck sensor.
If you can't find it using a bright light, try canned air.

yes, that is a carriage jam and not paper, the grinding is from the clean station that gets blocked with dried ink and cant move. you need to open the printer and clean the ink off of the clean station so it can clean properly and not cause a carriage jam.

I shipped my HP 6110 from England to Canada. The power adaptor accommodates 220 to 110 voltage, so no problem there. It turned on fine. Now the scanner works, but the print cartridges are stuck in home...

Make sure you actually opened the rear door and reseated it even if there's no visible jam.
Make sure the front panel is correctly installed.
Try resetting the printer by turning it off, unplugging the data and power cables for a few minutes, then plugging it back in and turning it on.
If you've tried this and followed the steps given by HP in a search of your model for "Carriage stall resolution", available here
you may have to have a tech take a look at it...

apply greese material on the steel rod on which the carriage moves.or it could also be the problem of the sensor which detects the paper in the printer ,that sensor is moved from its orignal position.
