OKI C5650n USB port not working

Hi

as stated above i have problems running my newly bought OKI printer with USB.
Vista 64 bit up to date with the latest oki drivers downloaded from oki homepage (OKIC5850x64GB). Installed with confirmation that everything installed correctly. Printer shows correctly in "Control Panel\Printers". Yet when i try to print it states "Could not connect printer to usb port" after a few seconds.

Printing out demo pages using the printer panel itself works fine.

Also i tried to set it up as a network printer in LAN. Temporarily reinstalled drivers for network use. With that done the printer worked fine.
Switched back to usb. Same error as before.

Tried to jiggle with different settings in Printer properties yet nothing seems to get it working.
Worth mentioning is that trying to print with the option "Print directly to printer" instead of "Spool print documents so program finishes printing faster" shoots down my explorer.exe and related open tasks. Such as Properties page.

Oh and it couldnt be the usb cable. I tried three different ones.

I would be very grateful for any help regarding this topic!
Since i thought id try a OKI instead of a HP like my old one was and im kind of fed up already after just 7 hours of ownership ^^ But i dont want to give up on it yet!

Kindest regards

Hi I have a Windows 7 (64 Bit) laptop and im

Please check the driver weather its support Win 7 64-bit or not, because Win7 have 2 varians 32-bit and 64-bit. If its not support 64-bit windows, you can download new driver but must be compatible with 64-bit system. Even if its the latest version of driver, but not support 64-bit system it won't be work.
You can download driver from here :

http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010891.asp

or here :
http://driverscollection.com/?H=PIXMA%20MG6150&By=Canon (choose Windows 7 64-bit).

Uninstall the driver from your PC then reinstall with the new driver.
Hope this help.

HP Laserjet 1012 printer not recognized

I really don't understand your problem as you stated it.!!
Your printer worked on your old system.. What was your old system ?? XP, XP Pro., 32 bit or 64 or VISTA. VISTA home 32 or 64.
If you are having problems installing the printer, it is not the fault of the Manf., you may not be loading the correct drivers.
First, check your device manager and see if the printer is being seen. Next, go to your printer icon and remove any printers installed.
Next, disconnect the printer from the unit and reboot.
Now, you have a unit free of any printer entries.
Find the software for you printer and if it is the correct version software for your printer, install it.
During the installation the software should tell you to plug in the device to a USB port.
Make sure the port you are using is the same as you have used before, as you may not have the support needed with another USB port. example,
port in the front may be a USB 1 port, the USB ports in the rear may support USB2 devices.
Next, if the software has loaded correctly and you have had no problems during the installation, you should be able to run your printer.
You should be able to find the correct drivers for your printer @ hp.com
I hope this has helped you !!!

Samsung ml-1740 printer - their driver not compatible with my Windows Vista

Try to install the software by clicking the right button of mouse on it and chose 'run as administrator ' from drop down menu.

Before installing do the following:

Unplug pinter USB.

Remove printer from installed printers (delete ) from Windows control panel.

Keep printer usb cable unplugged when you start driver setup software, you will be asked by setup wizard when to plug in the cable, or reconnect after installation.

If it still does not work, do a system restore to a date before you plugged in the printer for the first time, then repeate software setup as above.

If it still does not go you may need to reinstall Vista or replace the printer, one of the system files or regisries entries had developed a problem with printer driver, and is not easy to locate and remove the files concerned one by one.
