Re: Nic keeps saying cable is unplugged

You need to have a valid router/connection on the other side of the cable - do you?

Problems with Lan Drivers for ECS 945GCT-M/1333 v3.0 Motherboard! Tried installing Lan drivers for Windows XP 32-Bit for this board and its not working or installing properly as I still can not connec

I see what you mean, ECS say's it's a Realtek device. Then Realtek driver site keeps looping the XP links. In any case, I finaly found a good link. Here is the zip link.

They are newer than those posted on ECS, and if this does not work you should consider buying a new PCI NIC.

Good Luck

Intel Motherboard DG31GL, No local area connection .

See if when the network cable is plugged in to the back of the pc that there is a green light on. If not then the cable or nic is bad. Try another cable or install a nic.

I have a dell optiplex gx100. I installed Windows XP but it wont conect to the internet. Please help

In order to connect to the Internet, you need the following things:

- an Internet service provider (ISP)
- a network interface card (NIC) or modem
- a cable to connect from the NIC or modem to the jack in the wall where your Internet service comes in

Do you have all of these three things? What type of Internet service do you have? (ie. cable, dial-up, DSL, etc.)

Fixable problem or motherboard going out?

Make sure that modem port is working. Check modem on other PC.
Use different LAN cable.

I suspect NIC failre... you can installa addtional a PCI Ethernet Card and disable integrated NIC.

Ethernet driver for EPoX EP-8KDA3J

I have this exact same mobotherboard. Did you install the chipset drivers? You need to download and install the nforce3 chipset driver. It includes the nic driver and all other things you're probably missing besides video and sound.

I should tell you that my onboard NIC had problems on this motherboard. Sometimes it would lose connection, sometimes it would make my pc take 5 minutes to boot up when the cable was plugged in or just crash my computer.

I just use a PCI nic now. But you'll want to install that driver anyway. If you use a PCI nic, then go to Control Panel, Network Connections and right click the nforce nic and click Disable.

Ethernet card disappears on DG31PR motherboard

We have many boards in the field and have seen this issue 3 times in the last several weeks. The solution we have developed is to disable the NIC in the BIOS the boot into Windows. Shutdown again and boot back into the BIOS and reenable NIC (All this is just to get the NIC to appear again in Device Manager). Also, we are pulling the power cord before starting the computer again.

Once we have done that and have the NIC visible in Device Manager we are rolling back the driver to the one dated 8/6/2008 with version number 5.702.806.2008

Little or no connectivity no matter what

The first thing I would do is to check in device manager and see if the device is reporting any problem. Update the driver and see if it resolves the issue. If it still doesn't work I would assume this is a motherboard issue as you have been told.

LAN problem between Belkin modem and P5P800-VM MoBo

When you connect the pc to the router does the port number where that pc is connected is there any light on it? if there is check the IP address of the pc.
Click Start>RUN>type CMD click OK>type ipconfig on the command prompt if it says disconnected try changing the ethernet cable.
If you already receive a IP address that's good then try getting online.
