Question about Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

Zibro P125 Seems Like I don't have any grounded wall sockets in this room. What are the dangers of running a air conditioner / cooler (zibro p125) on a ungrounded socket? The manual also warns not to use a extension cord, as I understood it. I suppose I could get a grounded cord to go from the bathroom(grounded socket) into this room and get grounded power from there, its around 15 meters any problems with that?

You know, I have my computer, 3 screens, and the laptops etc whatever happens to be around at a time are all on ungrounded sockets, never had any problems but do you see any problems with that? these 3 screens alone cost me around 1k So, just wondering.

The problem is if you do not ground out your unit and it shorts out, it will blow every last part in your system and you will be buying a new part. Also there is a risk of electrical shock. Now to be honest with you. I do not run my window unit on a grounded outlet. But the plug itself has a fuse

That would be ok, just make sure that you run a thicker extension cord then the regular orange cords that most home owners have. You will want something that will not heat up if you run it for a hour or more

We live in California, so I tell all my customers to get power surge protectors on everything due to our rolling blackouts we get all the time. If you are in a area like that I would recommend some cheap power surge protectors. But if you never or hardly ever get rolling black outs or power surges then you are safe.

I want to make the air cond. get cooler. I want to cool fruit in this room. Can it be done. Maybe override the therm.?

To cool fruit ect you need something much more than a window unit air conditioner, they just don't have the cooling capacity to do that job. You need a walk in cooler to cool food down.

The power cord on my goldstar R1203 gets super hot and kicks off the power strip. I have tried just plugging it directly into the wall socket and it actually kicks off the power to the entire room. It will...

I would have the unit checked by a Service Tech and would not run it (the AC) until it was fixed.

This could be a dangerous situatiion especially if the breaker doesn't trip.

I know that the P0300 is for misfire on multiple cylinders, but the others I do not. Call your local Auto Zone-they should be able to tell you

Soleus Heat/Air/Dehumidfer Unit

I have had a soleus wall unit since 2005.
It is a wall unit in my apt...I have never had to use the heating part...but use the cooler part alot.
I can not figure out if that lil raindropis for adding moisture to a room...or is it to remove moisture from the room?

My apt always has to much humidity, so I do use that setting quite often, but can't tell any difference in the humidity gage.

Who knows anything about using one of these.
