Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T100 Digital Camera
Every time I turn my sony DSC T100 on it makes a low, grinding sound. I Can't imagine there are many moving parts inside so the only thing I can think of is that its the lense. If I change modes from picture taking to picture review the sound stops after a few seconds but If I go back to taking pictures it comes right back. Also, sometimes when I turn the camera on it says I need to reinsert the memory stick even though its already in there. Im sure the two problems are unrelated but both are rather bothersome problems. Any help would be great. My camera making strange and vibrating noise in ON position ?
It sounds like the lens is having difficulty moving into position, cover the lens with your thumb and spray a little WD-40 around the affected area.
With the camera card, take it out, clean the contacts and blow down the slot to remove any dust that may have built up.
Make sure the camera is turned off while you spray it.
Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!
