Question about Sony DVP-NS300 DVD Player
The problem must be a dirty lens or a disc. Have you tried a Dvd lens cleaner yet?

I don't think that it could be the scart, unlikely, you could try another way of connecting it if available, but unless the scart cable is broken I don't see how it could cause the issue,
