For the manufacturer's name and the model number you will have to physically open the case and examine the mother board. With that information you can visit the manufacturer's site for documentation

How to off motherboard speaker and enable Creative Soundblaster

Not knowing your expertise on computers I will try to keep this generalized. You must disable the on board sound of the main board. To do this you must gain access to the bios of your computer. This is usually done by hitting a key at boot up. Usually this key is the delete key "DEL", but sometimes is a function key like F2. It is usually advertised at boot up what key to hit to gain access to the bios setup screen. Once you gain access to the bios screen you should be able to disable the on board sound. If that doesn't fix the problem, you may have a driver problem in windows. Try going into the device manager of windows and uninstalling the driver associated with the sound card, and then reinstall it with the supplied disc that came with the sound card. Expert tip: The drive that usually ships with hardware is not the latest driver, go the to manufactures site and download the newest driver for the best performance. Hope this helps.

Computer was locked

Resetting the CMOS password on an Acer Aspire laptop is much more difficult than resetting the password on a desktop.
Disassembly steps vary from model to model, but on most models, you'll have to take apart the computer to access the CMOS battery.
Don't take apart the notebook if you don't have experience disassembling PCs.
After turning off the computer and disconnecting the AC adapter, take out the battery (different from the CMOS battery).
All visible screws must then be removed from the bottom of the notebook.
Remove all components stored to their separate compartments on the base of the notebook.
Turn over and open the PC. Lift up the switch cover and remove the screws securing the keyboard to the PC, if any are visible.
Remove the keyboard.
Remove the screws securing the monitor to the hinges, and then set the monitor aside.
Disconnect all visible cables connected to the motherboard; and then remove the screws from the top cover.
Remove the top cover to reveal the motherboard. Locate and then remove the CMOS battery. Leave it out of the notebook for 24 hours; then reinstall it and reassemble the Acer Aspire.
Other Options
If removing the CMOS battery fails to clear the password, or if you dont feel comfortable with the idea of opening your computer, you might be able to gain access to the computer using a backdoor password.
These special passwords were implemented to allow technicians to access locked computers. Not all models recognize backdoor passwords.
Most Acer Aspires use the Phoenix BIOS, and backdoor passwords for this BIOS include BIOS, CMOS, phoenix and PHOENIX.
All of these passwords are case-sensitive.

How to reset the bios password on sony vaio vpcee42fx laptop

Just as you can set a password for your email account or online banking, it is also possible to set a computer password in the BIOS. The BIOS, or basic input/output system, is the first computer code that the computer runs when starting up. The computer's motherboard stores this password and requires you to enter it before the computer will load the operating system. Setting up a BIOS password is one method of discouraging unauthorized access but, unlike the Internet, there are no hints or recovery options for forgotten BIOS passwords. Instead, you must reset your motherboard BIOS to clear the password.

Shut down the Sony Vaio PC. Unplug the power cable and any other cords attached to the computer. Grip the left side panel and pull it away to reveal the internal components. There may be a lever near the cover you must press down or a set of screws on the cover you need to remove with a Phillips screwdriver. The CMOS battery looks similar to a quarter. Pry out the CMOS battery gently with a flathead screwdriver. Look for the battery on the motherboard. It is similar in shape and color to an American quarter. Remove the battery, wait 30 minutes, then replace it. Unplugging the power source and removing the CMOS battery for half an hour will reset all BIOS settings to the factory default, including the BIOS password. Since by default computers do not have a BIOS password, this removes the password. Replace the system cover and cords. If you wish to add a password to the computer to replace the old one, you must go into the BIOS and enter it.

Unable to uninstall biometric password

Hi im Rain.
In order to remove the bios password you will need to open the Laptop to get to the mother board. on the motherboard you will see a little small battery that looks like a watch battery.
You will need to remove this battery and wait like 5 minutes. this will clear the bios password allowing you to gain entry to the system. Another way to gain entry to the system will be to reinstall windows. This will also allow you to gain access .

"bootlock" When I turn the computer I get a message

The Boot Block

The preceding section discusses updating the program code in the system BIOS by flashing it (replacing it under software control). If the flash procedure is done improperly, the BIOS code can become corrupted, which will cause the system to go into an unbootable state. Many newer systems come with a feature where a 4 KB "boot block" program is included as part of the BIOS. This is a tiny piece of code whose job it is to recover from a situation where the BIOS code is incorrect or corrupted.

If your motherboard supports this feature, when the PC tries to boot and finds the BIOS code corrupted, the boot block will try to recover the BIOS code, usually by reading it from a specially-prepared floppy disk. You may have to change a jumper on the motherboard to enable this capability, and you may need to make use of a "plain vanilla" ISA video card. The boot block will load the BIOS code and then when you next reboot, the regular BIOS code should be in place and the problem resolved.

You will need to follow the special recovery procedure outlined by your motherboard manufacturer if you want to take advantage of this feature.

Cant access advanced bios settings

Hi,
to access the Bios Configuration Setup, On Any PC.
Depending On The Bios Manufacturer i.e Pheonix-AMI et,c.
You press F2 Or Delete Or Esc At The Initial System Boot-Up.
Power On. Press One of the designated Buttons immediately, after starting the computer.this should access the Computers Advanced Bios Settings.
** Please note:- Altering any settings in the bios, can cause undesireable effects to your computer**
Even failure To Start, Or Boot-Up.
From my own personnal experience, it is better to underclock a cpu rather than overclock it.
If a CPU Is designed To Run At a certain speed, running it above it,s designated speed cycle, can damage either the CPU Itself, the Memory Or Motherboard.
Probably wiser, to upgrade The CPU rather Than Overclock It.
