Question about Washing Machines
The belts do not give this kind of problem. ouplerWhen a belt is broken or worn, apart not agitating , the washer usually does not spin. One of the belts operates the clutch , if that was broken the machine may spin but not agitate.
Parts that can be involved are:
Drive motor : PS2017259
The motor is tested by energizing and testing the three switches that operate the motor, if one of them is faulty the motor may not operate when agitating. Here parts to test.
The agitator itself.
Any broken mechanic part in the agitator, as a retaining ring, or the shaft where transmission attach to agitator can cause the agitator not to work.
Here the diagram:
The transmission may have a worn or broken gear, or some other internal problem.
A wiring or control problem.
If you do not find anything else, check wiring, motor timer and timer board.
