Do you have a mutli-meter? If so, I suggest checking the resistance of the ballast. also check each bulb sockets. If this model has a color wheel, make sure it is spinning. If you have access to a voltmeter check the power from the power supply connected to main board. It should be 13.5 volts

Let me know how this goes so I can further assist you.

Hi,

Not sure how old is this TV. Many chronc problems can cause these symtons. No high voltage because of bad flyback, or HV spitter defec is the most likely, but there are chonic caps that fail in the power supply as well. Check for horizontal drive waveform. It sounds like could be missing. Also not to miss out the fact that The onscreen setup menus appear only on a TV that is connected to the HDMI OUT. If your TV is connected to the composite video or S-Video MONITOR OUT, or the COMPONENT VIDEO OUT, use the TX-SR606’s display when changing settings."

Thank You for contacting Fixya.

it's in the manual footenotes. osd will not work with an hdmi connection to monitor. it will work with s-video or component. just switch input when osd is desired.

Monitor problem

I don't see any OSD in the RX-V490 owner's manual. This unit only passes video through from a video source, like a VCR.

I have got a problem with my 17 inch viewsonic monitor. as i open the monitor it shows osd locked. pls get me the solution.

Assuming this is a E70fB monitor
OSD Unlock : Press and hold the [1] and [▼] buttons again for 5 seconds. The message “OSD UNLOCK” will then display briefly, indicating that the OSD image settings are now unlocked.

Marantz sr-7200 no OSD

Press AMP then OK on your remote. If the menue does not appear press 9 on the remote. You must have your monitor connected through composit Monitor Out or S-VHS.
Also check your multiroom settings. Maybe your OSD signal is diverted through to other room. I do not have SR-7200 any more, unfortunately.

Arcam AVR 200 OSD

Hi

Think you might have to use composite video out for the OSD menu to appear. Think I heard somewhere S-Video out doesn't work for.

Haven't tried yet on my own, but I will in time :)

Cheers,
Simon

Change the Scart setting (in the setup menu) from the default setting (RGB) to the other available setting (CVSC?).
