Question about Televison & Video
I have inherited a Sherwood DAS(descrete amplifier stage) Digi-Line III Audio/Video RV-4050R. A Dolby-Surround Prologic. How do you hook it up, operate it,and what can I do with it?
Sherwood's site has a manual for the model RV-4060 (click here to download) but not for the 4050. You might find it similar enough to help you. Otherwise you can try a Google search for generic Dolby surround connections. It's usually pretty straightforward. Connect the audio out from your source (TV, DVD player, etc.) to the receiver. Connect the surround channel speakers to the appropriate rear panel jacks. Fire up a source you know has Dolby encoding, turn on receiver's Dolby processing from the front panel, and experiment with the different modes to hear what you get. Just remember you can't break anything just by pressing buttons.
