I have a futura ce-250 sewing machine and it won't sew anymore. It will go a couple of stitches and then break the tread. If I turn the hand wheel it will move easily sometimes, but then it gets very hard to turn. I cleaned out the bobbin area and didn't find any threads. The machine is fairly new. Besides stray threads what else might cause this?

SOURCE: can't tighten clutch on Kenmore zig zag sewing machine.
The clutch has fallen off the shaft. Remove the very small screw in the clutch release screw to remove the clutch release. Place the clutch(round thing with ears on it) back on the shaft with the center ears pointing towards the outside. Put the clutch release screw back on. Tighten it to make sure it works
properly. Put the small screw back in the clutch release screw and test it again. If it will not tighten or release properly, remove the clutch ,rotate it180 degrees and try it again.This should solve your problem.

hi;
breaking thread and thread below not hook up by upper thrread, this is due on not properly set up of thread tension,first check bobbins winding see figure.the threads should
be counter clockwise.
the theading on upper set up should prorerly inserted follow figures.
the dial set up tension should start at #3 to # 5
the stitch tension should be set to # 8 to # 12
use trial run for fabrics,diffferent set up in every fabric tru to study before sewing in other fabrics.have a nice day don't forget to rate me.thank s a lot

I doubt it is a motor problem but it is too jammed up to turn the motor-you are right not to force it. Take out all of the bobbin parts again and leave them out. Now unscrew the needle and while lowering it, into the needleplate hold it tightly and remove it. Clear all thread from the machine and it should now move freely.
Reassemble the bobbin parts and reinsert a new needle being careful to insert it fully and correctly.
SOURCE: Shirring fabric?
When putting your shirring elastic on the bobbin, don't thread the elastic through the bobbin holder,adjust the stitch length longer,and loosen the tension, other wise if you want to put it through the bobbin holder you have to loosen the tension screw on the bobbin holder, and then you have to adjust it back for ordinary sewing,
