We took apart the dryer. the heating coil was broken in two. When the dryer was stopped it was not in off mode therefore the electricity was going through and the ends off the coil where it was broken was touching the metal and eating the dryer which made it hot to touch. We tested the 3 different fuses? the ohms were good. Ordered the part waiting to put it back together to be sure. Rule to remember even when dryer is stopped it should always be put in off mode.

Why is my frigidaire dryer quitting after running a few minutes. It runs fine on the no heat so the motor is alright.

Not neccessarily the cool cycle uses less power and pressure from the motor, the winedings on motor may be bad or going out? does it shut down after 20-30 minutes of running? u may also want to check ur venting and ur thermostats the cycling and the thermal cut off, if ur having an over heating problem they can and will shut off the cycle as a safety precaution

Frigidaire Affinity AEQ6700FSO electric dryer does not heat, then shuts off within 10 minutes.

Hello Scott Joseph Brandt - Since you have already replaced the thermal limiter check your breaker or fuses. Some dryers are run by two separate fuses, one for power and one for heat-ours is. If it is not the power source more than likely the issue lies with your heating coil.

I have a Frigidaire Dryer model number GLER341AS2. The dryer runs fine, but won't get hot. I pulled the dryer from the wall to see anything obvious. I noticed what I thought at first to be anim

Are you mechanically inclined? You may have several problems. 1st, heating element is most likely burnt out. Then I would check ball and socket assembly that back of drum fits into. Also check felt in front of machine that drum rides on. May need competent service person on this.

Is there a rest button on a kenmore dryer? I accidentely left some clothes on top of ther dryer while running the dryer and it shut off in mid-cycle. The top of the dryer was very hot, so I thought there...

Yes, there are - there are two switches. Thermal fuse and the High Limit switch located behind the back panel. Thermal fuse is a white fuse with two blue wires and the High limit switch is a black cylinder shaped fuse above the heating element. Good Luck...

My Frigidaire gas dryer isn't hot. Otherwise it runs fine.

it could be either your ignitor(glow coil) flame sensor control, or a defective thermal switch telling dryer its at temp and shutting off gas supply before it even fires initially

Our dryer was working yesterday morning, but later in the day it would continue to run but would not produce any heat to dry the clothes.

If the dryer runs but doesn’t heat, don’t even think it’s the thermal fuse. If the thermal fuse was the problem, the dryer wouldn’t run at all.
First thing to do is verify your source voltage for the dryer; for those of you in Manhattan, this means to use your multi-meter to measure the voltage at the dryer outlet to make sure you have 240v. Y’see, Slick, the dryer motor only needs 120v supplied by one of the lines to run. But the heating elements, on the other hand, need 240v supplied by both lines to get hot.
If the source voltage is ok, then the most likely bad parts are listed below. As always, you should use your meter and the tech sheet supplied with your dryer (and cleverly hidden inside the control panel) to verify:
1. Even Heat Board
2. Heater Relay
3. Thermostat
4. Sensor
