Question about Dell Inspiron E1505 Notebook
Well in all honesty this has been a problem that I have ignored for sometime because I have been maneuvering around it using shortcuts but, its really getting on my nerves. Ever since I upgraded my laptop ram memory to 2gb any time I access a my computer file straight through windows this occurs. can anyone tell me how to make it stop ?
To identify bad RAM, there is a good utility called memtest86. You run
it from a bootable cd or usb drive to test as much of the memory as
possible, let it run for a few hours and see what comes up.
If errors are detected, try to downgrade to your original RAM configuration. If the problem stops you have isolated the problem to your new RAM. It could be bad RAM or inappropriate type, or maybe that the RAM is not seated correctly in the slots and a reseating may help.
PS. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memtest86 for info on this excellent utility and to get references to where you may find it.
