It think its something to do with the DRM on your PC download this OMG Status file to check to see if all is working OK. It will tell you if the SDK is working

DRM OMG Status Check v1.0

It will also tell you the error code for example error 80040154 means that the application software is not loaded.

Sony NW-A1000 will not play,

If you get the spinning disc error on your sony nw a1000 it means the hardrive is knackerd.
The hardrive in the sony NW A1000 is a segate ST1.2 6gb and these can be bought off ebay for around £8. If you can't find a 6gb one you can fit an 8gb hardrive BUT your NW A1000 will only use 6gb of it.

If you search on the internet you can find instructions on how to remove the back cover of your NW A1000 which is very easy to do! You then unplug the hardrive (be very careful!) and replace it with the new seagate hardrive. Turn the NW A1000 on and go to the home menu, select "settings", then select "intialize disc" and it will format your new hardrive so that it can work with NW A1000.

Error Code 82040100

ERROR CODE 82040100 SOLUTION: here's what I did to solve this problem: -update walkman's firmware to latest version (3.0) -control panel > system > hardware > device manager uninstall the driver for the walkman (remove device) -now connect player can initialize the player again, but I installed Sonicstage CP 4 which is much better anyway.

My sony walkman NW-A1000 wont show any of my songs i put on it!!

firstly all the tracks you want must be converted into mp3 format. You can get hold off mp3 converter software such as Power and winlame. also all the tracks you want has to be imported into the Connect Player software. you should have a cd that comes with the player, it is similar to iTunes with the iPod. i think you can possibly download it from the sony website. when you have them both convert the tracks into mp3s and then import them into the Connect player. From Connect you will be able to transfer the music across. Hope it helps
