If this is the proper model number (hp 1010), it's just a fax -not a printer. Please clarify

Do a google search for this product. I found the specs on this machine. hp fax 1010. In the specifications it does not have print option.
looks like this machine is a stand alone fax and can be used as a copier. I do not believe that it can be connected to your computer.

My computer wont set up my printer

Turn on the printer and the computer. Connect the printer's cable to the printer and the computer.

Click on the "Add Hardware" wizard, if it comes up automatically. If not, click on "Start," then "Control Panel" and then "Printers" or "Faxes and Printers." Click on "Add Printer" on the left side of the window.

Choose the manufacturer and model number for your printer from the list in the installation wizard. If your printer is not on the list, you can click on the "Have Disk" link and insert the printer's installation CD. If you do not have the CD, you can download the software on the manufacturer's website.

Select "Local Printer Attached" and wait as the computer connects to the printer.

Restart the computer once you are done installing the printer's software. The installation software may ask you to restart the computer. If not, initiate a restart yourself.

Need hp deskjetf4288 software

HI Its better if you use the default printer drivers available in the computer.

go to printers and faxes --->choose add a local printer--->make sure you check the right port,

for HP Deskjet it should either be DOT4 and most likely the USB0001 port--->when you get the manufacturers list---->choose HP and in the right pane look for Hp Deskjet 550c,
this works as the default printing drivers and you shouldn't face any issues as far as printing from the computer is concerned,
for further clarifications you may reply here.

Problems installing a printer

what is your operating system? If you have windows XP or Vista, you dont need to download anything from Epson. Just go to your start menu and look for control panel. In control panel, open "printers and faxes" or "printers and other hardware" then "printers and faxes". Once you are in "printers and faxes" click Add Printer...
An "add printer wizard" will appear in a new window, click next...
On the next screen, choose local printer. And make sure that the option "Automatically detect and install..." is selected. It will start searching... If the wizard did not find the printer, it will come up with a list of manufacturers... From this list choose EPSON and a list on the right side will show you the model names. Look for the LX-300 on the list, it should be there! Install it and you're done... The driver is already included in the windows operating system. You dont need the disc if you have Windows Xp or Vista....

NEC SuperScript 870 Printer

First open your Control Panel and click Printers. Now click “Add a Printer”. Specify if you printer is Local (plugged in to your computer) or on the Network (plugged in to a different computer). We are assuming you have a Local printer.
Next specify the port. Usually you can just take the default here. Now you will be presented with a list of available printer drivers with manufacturers on the left and printer models on the right.
Under manufacturers choose “HP”. Then on the right scroll down and find the “HP LaserJet IIP”. It will probably show up just after the “Laserjet IIIP”. Click next and follow the instructions to complet installing your printer.
