I solved the problem myself by disconnecting the monitor from the computer and then I unplugged the computer. I restarted the computer in position fail safe (F8) and tried to change the monitors resolution back to origin, failed to do so and rebooted instead. When Windows loaded up the problem was gone! Yipeyiiiii!

your refresh rate is set too high. boot into safe mode set to 640 x 480 then reboot. once it is up try adjusting the refresh rate to around 60 or lower. or buy a newer monitor.

Not able to use full screen

Hello,
This sounds like bad resolution is set on your computer. The LG 22" FLATRON monitor has a native resolution of 1680 x 1050. However, your video card may not support this so you can also try any other 16:10 resolution like 1440 x 900.

To change your resolution in Windows XP:
1. Access the Control Panel.
2. Choose "Display".
3. Click the "Settings" tab.
4. Under "Screen resolution" move the slider to a 16:10 resolution like 1680 x 1050 or 1440 x 900.

If you computer does not support higher resolutions, you may consider replacing your video card to take full advantage of your nice 22" Flatron monitor.

If I can further assist you, please let me know.

Regards,
KYTechnology

Your PC video resolution is too high for this monitor to display, you need to set your PC video reslotion to the native resolution of this monitor, which is 1280 x 1024 @60Hz.

I have upto now been using my LG Flatron L1919S monitor as a tv with a separate tuner. today i replaced it with an LCD tv and was going to use the monitor for my computer. however when i connected it up...

It means your PC video output resolution is too high for the LG monitor to display (your old monitor (CRT) can handle higher resolution than this LG LCD monitor), you need to set the PC video resolution to native resolutionof this monitor which is 1280 x 1024 @60Hz. You may have to use the old monitor (CRT) to set the resolution to 1280 x 1024@60Hz, then hook up the LCD monitor.

Hi for all,a nother LGflatron LCD 563le problem

hsonic75, You need to do the flashlight test the next time your LCD goes to a black screen. Make sure that PC is fully booted with a Windows Desktop showing. then reconnect the 563LE to PC. Turn on the 563LE and note how long it takes to go dark. After you get dark screen, shine bright flashlight at different angles close to screen. Do you still see a faint image of the desktop? Let me know results of test. How old is this monitor? Is it covered by a warranty? Have you called LG (Lucky Goldstar) to find out if they have a swapout program? You send your monitor+$40-$90 and they ship you a same model REFURBISHED(with new CCF tubes/SMPS/INVERTER boards) back to you. Your complaint sure sounds like an INVERTER or Switch-Mode-Power-supply problem to me! All you need to do is a search on net for: 'bad caps in lcd monitors' or 'bad caps on lcd boards' and you will be inundated with more than you need to know! I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel@ aol.com
Bye for now.

Monitor problems

Try setting your resolution lower via the control panel; it appears the resolution picked by Windows is beyond the monitor's capabilities.
