Kodak z650 won't go on, please help

Hi I have had my Kodak Z650 for 1 year and 1 week and I have only used it until with the battery that came with the initial pack went dead, then it has been stored carefully away.  I had a special occasion coming up and bought a new battery and when I put it in the camera nothing happens it's just dead. Can someone please give me advice on what this could be and how to fix it, many thanks

Yes, I have the same problem. Bought the camera about 11 months ago and the original battery suddenly died. I bought a new battery, but it still won't turn on. Sounds like this model may be defective.

Had used rechargeable Nimh batteries except in "emergencies" where the original CRV3 was used to "finish" an outing. Until recently, that had worked great. Used the CRV3 until it died, now none of my Nimh rechargeables will run more than a few pics, and most of them won't even turn the camera on. Kodak says send it in. At 18 months old that "repair" will cost an estimated $125. I think NOT. But I sure won't be buying a KODAK replacement camera!

I had the same problem. Switched batteries. Nothing. It worked just a few weeks ago, and has been safely in its case the whole time...

I had this problem too, then realised I was misreading the battery polarity sign. Try the batteries the other way round! Sounds stupid, but maybe I am too.

If you have an EasyShare printer dock or AC adapter, try those. If not, you will have to have it repaired, unless your battery is dead or the connections in the battery bay have a foreign object or corrosion blocking the connection.

If you really left the batteries alone for 6 years without regularly charging them, they won't work anymore. I still have two KLIC 500 batteries from Kodak, which I bought in 2005, Both are in very good condition, because the both get a charge every 3 months, even in periods I did not use my camera.
You could try. charging the batteries several times, but don't have to high expectations.

Just use a 2GB "SD" card,,The Z650 will not accept any of the newer, faster cards available today. Just carry a spare, if you plan on using your camera for lots of pics/videos. Cheer's, Andy.

My Kodak Z650 camera just won't switch ON. I used the camera a few weeks ago and it was working fine and after using it, I removed the battery and packed it away for next use. The next time i tried using...

Hi there Make sure the new batteries are fully charged before used. After that remove the memory card & try to power on. If its not ON then i suggest you remove the battery & check the that place for any sulfur layer( green colored ) are there or not. Just clean that place & put the camera in sun light for 10 minutes. Because some time moisture make short the circuit board & that's why camera would not turn on. If its a moisture problem then after those operation it will start working. But if your camera power supply converter are damaged then its not possible to repair at home. So go for all these basic treatment & after that if you not success then i suggest you please visit Kodak service center for replacement or repair. Thanks.

Flash does not work on Kodak z650. no damage history. What can be done?I'm fairly adept at mechanical stuff.

To correct the flash problem, please do the following:
Turn off the camera.
Install a set of new or fully charged batteries into the camera.
Turn on the camera.
Press the Flash Status button to scroll through the flash options until Fill Flash (the lightning bolt icon alone, with no other letter or symbol) is displayed. This forces the camera to use the flash.

if problem still persist contact the tech num 18002356325

Hope this will help

Thanks

Kodak Z650 LCD is black

Check to see if there is a battery save mode for the viewfinder. Check the instruction manual for this.

It is also possible that the drive circuit for the LCD display has a fault. It was simply coincidential that it went bad while you were transfering pictures.
