hello, although I want to go into detail explanation with you what how to genericly replace a devices screen it would not be the proper thing to do. Your request for a step-by-step guide to replace a screen on a particular device is somewhat not realistic, in particular this device is very uncommon. I have one of these devices mine is about 3 years old and it has the same problem however what you need to do is order another screen. carefully look around the unit for the screws in order to remove the casing around the screen, once you remove the casing there should be more screws holding the lcd in place, remove those screws and any other screws holding the lcd in place. lightly lift on the screen in order to try and lift it up putting only finger tension on it, once the screen is release look for a plug on the back of the screen that connects it to motherboard or maybe a motherboard on the LCD screen itself connected to wires which go to the motherboard of the unit, after disconnecting remove the screen and look for any identifying markers to identify the screen. after locating the model number or some identifying factor of the screen go ahead and search for it on ebay or somewhere else do a general Google search if you are able to find the lcd you can replace it just as easy as you took it out there is no step-by-step guide for your particular device, I suggest maybe making a video question showing the unit and maybe someone can respond to you giving you steps that way, however my solution I do believe will be the most simplest for you. some more good news is that LCD that's inside that you need is the same type that you will find in your laptops and televisions a lot of them are interchangeable it really depends on the company that made them and the type of connection that they use so you maybe will be able to go to a computer repair shop and get a screen or a goodwill and find a cheap l_c_d and take it apart as long this is the same size in dimensions there is chance that you may be able to find a replacement however not guaranteed.
Most radios have universal wires for the most part.Yellow is 12volt constant power, red is switched power(accessory)black is ground. the 2 gray wires are right front speaker(black stripe is always negitive) the 2 white are left front purple is right rear green is left rear orange/white is illumination
first check their website for an updated firmware download it and run it connect your gps and see what happens
if that doesn't do it something has gone wrong internally most gps manufacturers have a flat rate repair. Unfortunately that flat rate lets say $120 doesn't make financial sense They may fix it for $120 but they won't update maps replace the battery etc..
for $150 to $199 you can get a really nice unit from Garmin, Magellan or tomtom those are the big three heavyweight players in the industry.
Coincidentally I recently purchased a big screen from Walmart and they sell extended warranties what caught me off guard was how cheap they were compared to those from Best buy and other company.
Being that products such as GPS are not only fragile but become outdated due to new maps their "life expectancy" really is no more than 3-5 years might make sense to pay $20 for a 3 year warranty especially since ANY parts they would have to order are going to cost them more than the original price of the unit on my son's video gaem they just gave me my money back and I bought a new one.
sounds like a umd loading problem. this has happened to many psp owners in a variety of circumstances. go on the psp support section on playstation website and find information on this criteria. hopefully you can solve the problem with the steps given instead of having to do a warranty. ps my psp power cord stopped working...sucks for me, i cant get a warranty cuz i lost my receipt!
