Hello Sir

  1. 1 Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
  2. 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  3. 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  4. 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  5. 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  6. 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

Memory card says full photos format

Put the memory card in your camera and format the memory card using the options in the camera menu. Do not format the card on your computer. Check the camera's manual how to format your memory card.
Remember that if you format a memory card, all data on that card will be lost.

Have you actually formatted the card in the camera ? Just copying the photos does not remove them from the card

My camera says the memory card is locked and memory card error appears when I turn on the camera. I've read that I have to format the card, but won't the photos be destroyed? How can I get my pictures

There is a tab on the memory card so you will you need to remove it from the camera and change the position of this tab to "unlock" it. DO NOT format the card until you've BACKED UP your files from it (typically to a PC or USB drive (stick or external hard drive).

After formatting a memory card (any memory card) the camera works fine. I can take the SD card out and via an USB reader d/l the photos to either Windows or Linux. After use the card is no longer...

Sounds like you're yanking the card or card reader out without using the "safely remove hardware" function on your computer. This habit can corrupt the card (as you've found out).

This error message means that the card is corrupted or formatted for another digital camera. Turn off the camera. Insert a new card or format the card.
Try to format the memmory card using a card reader and the PC this should solve your problem if not you have to replace the memmory card.

The camra works fine until i put in the memory card, when i put in the card it pops up E53 and wont do anything-to get that off i have to take out the card and batteries and its fine again-what do i do?

Without knowing the camera make and model I can only suggest you check your owners manual on how to format your memory card, your manual may also call it initialize.
I'm also going to include a diagram that shows the SD sliding lock, if this lock is in the lock position a whole sea of problems can "pop" up. the lock function is there top protect pictures or files on the card from being deleted by mistake. However sometimes these annoying little trouble makers get pulled down into the lock position.
Here is the diagram. Remember check the lock and then format/initialize your memory card also after each time you download your images from the camera or the optional card reader you must format the memory card to have the camera properly function with the memory card.

Hope this helps have fun with your camera

Is the memory card the same thing as a scandisc card, the thing that holds your pictures on it. If not where is a memory card located on camera. Sounds like I have to buy new camera

Yes, memory card is sort of a generic term due to the amount of different cards used in today's digital cameras. It appears that the manufactures are changing the card type and size to fit their smaller cameras. If the camera is working properly the only reason to buy another camera is to upgrade to bigger, faster and more functions. Your memory card should be available if you want another. Remember to format (initialize) the new card AND the old or original card you should be formatting not just deleting the images. Happy Holidays from Robert in Canada

My camera keeps saying the card is full when its brand new

Hi,
You just need to format the memory card. And make sure that you are in memory card option for the picture storage when you take pictures.
Formatting the memory card This function will format the memory card and will erase all files in memory including files that have been protected. Note: Once formatted all the images stored in the memory will be erased. This process is irreversible. Please download all images to the PC before formatting the card. 1. Touch the icon (arrow down) function area until you see the “Format” option.
2.Touch the icon (memory card drawing/picture) function area to enter the Format menu.
3.Touch the icon (arrow left) function area to select OK/Cancel.
4.Press the Menu/OK button to confirm.
5.A Format message will appear on the LCD.
FORMAT?
YES NO
6.Touch the icon (arrow right) or (Arrow left) function area to select Yes or No.

Formatting required after taking photos on card and dont want to lose photos already on card

Did you use the camera to format the card before you shot any pictures. If not, the camera can't use the card and used its own memory to store the photos. Use the camera to format the card, then the camera can continue to shoot more photos and store them on the card. When you download them to the computer, remember to get the one from the camera too.

Konica Minolta Dimage 7 delay in start up and shot down procedure Hi, I have a Minolta Dimage 7 Digital Camera SN91202050. I'm very keen in electronics and I have its service manual (45 pages). Few months ago, I upgraded the firmware to ver 2.01e. (I read the full compatebility notice before installing). The camera worked so fine. I've got about 2000 jpgs And the last day I took about 200 jpgs in a very short period of time. So I was enforced to exchange the batteries during the snapshots. I'm using 2500mAh MiMH Kodak batteries. I noticed that the grey front right hand part of the camera is a little bit overheated. The next day, and after the camera returned to its normal temperature, I tried turning the Main Switch/ Mode Dial from OFF to Recording Mode, after putting a completely charged batteries. Unfortunately, I heard a small sound "Tick" then nothing happened else, the Data panel stayed dim(unlit) and with no data, and no red indicator had seen, also the monitor LCD didn't start. I didn't hear the noises which the camera should give in normal conditions. I left the switch as is, few minutes later, the camera continued the startup procedure, as I heard the noises and the Data panel lit in green and it displayed the normal status. I made several snapshots and everything were going well. I turned the **** to playback mode, I have seen the entire snapshots I did. Which mean tha the CF card is working well. Also all the other knobs were working properly. Then I decided to turn the camera OFF. Again, the LCD monitor turned OFF directly, but the upper Data Panel was left ON!!! And I heard "tick" Few minutes later, it turned OFF automatically. And I heard the same noises in the normal manner. 1-Does that mean the main board had a cold welding point? Or, the board was affected in the earlier overheating. I tried to use the transformer instead of the internal batteries, and I found this same situation. Delay in the turn on and turn off. And also the delay period is the same. 2-Does that mean that some chemical capacitors were damaged? ( wich capacitor should I replace?). 3- Does that mean there is a cold welding in some points beyond the processor in the MAIN PCB ASSY(0402) due to the frequent humidity and overheating? N.B I tested the internal backup battery, and it gave 3.24V (it's ok) Kind Regards, Soubhi Sabbagh Email: s.sabagh@aloola.sy
